I'm in love with this girl who has a boyfriend of over two years. They've had tons of problems, but she always goes back to him. I hadn't considered myself an AFC in a long time...but looking back on things with her...I totally am. She knows how I feel, and she's expressed 'strong' feelings back...which is what has kept me thinking 'some day i'll be with her'. Finally, I've given up on it. I made too many mistakes, and I doubt we'll ever be together. I'm still her friend because she's awesome, but I'm not letting myself fall for what she says anymore.
I guess the whole point of this is...if you want a girl...never become her friend, and if she has a bf...but says she has feelings for you in that way...don't let yourself get caught up in it...because you will get hurt in the end.

To her you are just an idiot she uses when she needs to talk to someone. Of course she will say she has strong feelings for you, but when it is all said and done she won't even leave her bf who she has tons of problems with! This is all bs. If she has expressed 'strong' feelings for you yet is still with problem bf, you know this is just bs. If she really wanted you she would have gone after you. take this advice, don't be such an idiot not to see her bs. Stop being such a puzzy and be a real man, get a girlfriend of your own, don't take another man's woman or wait around for girls to leave their boyfriends.

Friend zone is absolute garbage.

It's good, however, that you can realize and identify the issue - that's the first step to getting out of these predicaments.

If it helps any - take solace in that women get in the 'friends zone' with guys a lot too, and regret it as well.

Ouch...that was kinda harsh. I asked for it though. Just to defend myself...a lot of guys, and yes, real men, end up falling for taken girls, who they are friends with. I know I've gotta focus on those other girls who are interested in me...it just sucks sometimes when you want the girl who'll never want you.
