Loner, you've really got nothing to lose if you keep trying with this girl. even if you fail, you can go back, look at what you did wrong, and improve on that next time. as far as being funny, rather that looking for something to compliment her on or telling her, "Oh, you'll get it," make fun of her some how. "what's with the weird flowers in your hair?" "man, good luck figuring that out." stuff like that. do it with some hint of a smile so she knows your joking.
also, you're way too insecure if you're worried about this girl liking your little brother better.
the only other things i can think of have already been said. take her off the pedestal and realize your just as good as her, be ready to move on if this doesn't work out, and read the dj bible.

Wow, you guys are awesome.
I posted this yesterday afternoon, and already my life has changed.
This is my current mindset:
A) I don't care if my little brother hits on her. He's ugly, he smells, and he's way too young. She uses him as entertainment, nothing else.
B) I don't care if she rejects me. There are other women. Besides, I'm just as cool as her, if not cooler. Her loss.
C) If she doesn't want to sit by me, that's fine. Heck, I'M the prize. If she doesn't want to sit next to me, that's HER problem.
D) I'll talk with her when it's mutually convenient. If she's busy, let her get her stuff done. If I'm busy, I don't go out of my way to please her.
E) I'm done complimenting, except when it really seems to fit. I.E "Hey Amy, leave the door open so I can hear you practice violin tonight! None of this hiding in the bedroom!" is ok, imo, but not "uhm gosh, you are like, so hot with those flowers in your hair"
F) etc, can't think of any more.

Actually, it's working. I pretty much ignored her (I WAS NOT RUDE!!!) for all of the morning, and she didn't know what was going on. Then, in the afternoon, I grabbed my science and sat down at the kitchen table where I ALWAYS do my school. Sure enough, less than 5 minutes later, she grabs her math and comes and sits RIGHT ACROSS from me.
Of course, I was polite and entertaining, but not overly nice, and no compliments. I also tried to shut off my feelings for her hot body and she seemed more receptive to me. After 2 hours of her sitting across from me, she said "When do you have to go to piano practice?" like "when do you have to leave, this is so much fun?"
I told her, and we kept working/chatting.
When I got home, I brought my stuff into where I keep it and she was on the puter. I said "Hi" and "Anything interesting happen while I was gone?"
I then ran and ate dinner, and when I came back, got on MY computer, she was still on the other one. She kept telling me all the funny stuff she was running across the internet etc. I acted interested, but of course, I was busy.

All in all, I'm amazed at how much I've improved in such a short time. You guys are TOO COOL FOR WORDS.
Like I said, the only thing I have problems with is treating all the other chics special when I don't have feelings for them, because I don't want to "use" them. Any ideas?

Your not using them. If getting this info from them seems like you are using them they'll probably pick up on this too. I say forget getting the info on her. She lives with you at the moment. What information do you not have? Just pay more attention to these chicks. Flirt with them for fun. Theres nothing wrong with flirting at all. I flirt with girls who are just friends all the time. Chicks are used to guys flirting with them and if that's all your going to do is flirt with them and not try to put the moves on them they are most likely going to label you as just a friend. As for Amy she'll think you like these chicks etc.. well you know from there.. or soon will know. Just keep reading the Bible and keep this thread going. I'm interested in how this all turns out.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

A DJ would worry only about if HE LIKED HER.....and he wouldnt be worrying, he would know. Whether she liked him or not is immaterial, if she doesnt like a dj, shes not worthy of a date anyway.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Loner, I have decided to honor your post with the grace of my divine advice.
After reading what you did and claiming what you did, the word "Amy" shouldn't be in your vocabulary. Unfortunatly, after having read all that stuff, you are still going to sh*t yourself when you see your brother talking to her. It's gonna be hard since she's in your house all the time, so I suggest just looking at her, taking a pen and a paper and writting down her faults. Don't stop writting. It will help put her in the right perspective.
If you guys are so unskilled that jealousy is your trump card... And forget hurting them, just do it. They have all sinned and need to reap it.

It's working. I quit being her doormat, heck, I was pretty much just going about my normal routine for a while. She seemed ok for a bit, but then she started doing stuff like coming into the same room I was to do her school, etc. Last night, I was doing some computer programming, and she came in and got on the other computer. We chatted while we did whatever, but eventually her mother made her go to bed. I didn't say anything. She shut off her computer... went in the other room, I didn't say anything. Sure enough, she came back and smiled at me and said "good night!"
I smiled right back at her and said good night back.
The most tempting thing for me to do is now that I think she likes me, is to become her doormat again. If I do that, I'll be right back where I started. *sigh*
And sorry for not keeping you guys updated, it was really just yesterday that she warmed up to me again.
