Me neither. I'm just bored at work I hope this isn't monitored.
Attraction runs on a clock.
She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.
The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."
One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.
Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
That still sounds like you're bitter. My Name is Nobody said:I have decided if she contacts me again I am going to turn her down. I'll tell her she had her chance and I've moved on.
Yep, you're still bitter. My Name is Nobody said:I've always wanted to do that to a woman like this.
Why?My Name is Nobody said:It would probably make her want me more than ever.
Write this down and put it in your wallet. My Name is Nobody said:Not saying I think she will contact me, but just sayin'...Thanks for kicking some sense into me.
Going back to her after this would be a horrible move and it would go against everything this site stands for. I have to set a good example.

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
***sigh*** OK, watch this clip. It's a short, metaphoric skit about what you went through. FLUSH THAT LAST CHUNK!My Name is Nobody said:You think I should block her and remove her from my IM? I have this strange curiosity because I can tell she has NOT deleted me from her IM...
I hear you man I hear you.. it's easy for you to say you are probably banging 20 different women. I have 4 new #'s, a vacation coming up next week and hopefully some action. We'll see but in the meantime it really would be nice getting the upper hand back in this situation.. I don't think it will happen soon.. it will probably take weeks and by that time I shouldn't even care I'll have some plates. But you never know...I don't see the problem keeping her on BLOCK and if she pops online I can pop online and see if she initiates a conversation. What's the problem?Francisco d'Anconia said:***sigh*** OK, watch this clip. It's a short, metaphoric skit about what you went through. FLUSH THAT LAST CHUNK!

reset said:Yeah it sucks. You're having all these fantasy scenarios in your head of "what ifs" and none of them are real.
You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.
And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.
Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.
The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
reset said:Yeah I should probably bow out of this thread. I think it may help you to re-read this entire thing and let it sink in.
The only way to "win" is to just move on and rise above the situation.
That's hard to do but I doubt any of the guys here would say there's a better strategy than being the bigger man and just putting this behind you.
Good luck dude.

I remember even changing the ages and details in that original post because I was so damn nervous and insecure that someone I knew might see it. That thread used to be painful for me to read. About two years ago, I was just trying to forget about it. Now, it's just funny to me.
The moral of the story is we have all freaked out on here before. Guys who don't post on Internet forums just use different avenues for their breakdowns. Your skin will get thicker over this and you'll grow as a man. You just have to let this experience help you to grow.
Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.
Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers. Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.
I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.
reset said:Actually, this isn't really funny. I don't know if this is the first time you've had problems with a chick at work--but yes she's going to keep coming by your desk and being dramatic and trying to get a reaction out of you, and this is a professional setting with your reputation at stake and you could end up doing something really stupid so commit now to just forgetting this chick exists and go about your business as if NOTHING happened.
Ultimately that will drive her insanse, so if your ego is at stake then yes you will "get the upper hand" but you only do that by refusing to interact with her or play games of any fashion whatsover.
The story I told you was probably one of the worst experiences of my life and the only reason I've been posting is to just remind you not to do anything stupid.
If you believe you will do that then my work is done.![]()
Is it help desk? I sense help desk. Help desk is definitely not a career. The problem with these jobs is that they often get outsourced to illiterate foreigners. I'd definitely look for something that pays gooder.:rockon:My Name is Nobody said:Dude trust me this job sucks and it is NOT a career and I am trying to find a way out already. It's a desk job answering phones all day. Fire me, I don't give a ****.
As for ignoring her yes, I will do exactly that. Hell for her, this probably is a career. It doesn't pay good and I am just working there because it was what was available at the time. I can and have done much better than this job.

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.
The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.
Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
