That's only confusing if you believe girls are into looks as much as guys think girls are into looks.

And if you overestimate your own market value.

Girls tend to go for personality, social skills, etc. much more than guys realize.

And guys tend to OVERESTIMATE their personality, social skills, etc.

And there's a lot more going on in those hot "looking" girls with average dudes, low self esteem, etc.

I believe that not only is it healthy, but it is ancient and instinctive.

Male instincts drive men to compete, with the winner getting the best women.

Of course, in this context, "best" women is far from the "hottest" woman.
