Does getting a girl's email address your interested in seem lame?

Hey, I am wondering if getting a girl's email address is seen as lame by the girl your getting email address from. I had gotten a girl's email address that was in my class at University, she had a surprised look on her face when asked. We had chatted and developed a rapport in class, she seemed to like what I had to say(I participated in class a lot), she did sometimes too. She also asked for my notes once. I saw her on bus a couple times. By end of school year, she happened to be on same bus as me. I sat next to her, she didn't say much at all and I was doing the chatting for most part. I was going to ask her out, however figured she was busy and didn't know if she had a bf. I later found out on Hi5, that her staus was that she was comitted and found her on facebook, she didn't accept friend request! It sucks how things turn out! It seems the girls I like aren't interested or have bf's or live away! *Sigh*

E-mail seems like such an easy way out. Grab your balls and get the phone number and call her instead. Much better to have an actual conversation with a girl than just typing words on a computer.

Why not the phone number? It can't be any harder. I see no point in E-mail unless you want or need to exchange files for whatever reason.
