Do you think normies finally wising up about canonical dating (and Chad not needing to date) is causing sit-down restaurant chains to go bankrupt?

I was reading this, and it got me thinking:
my opinion: While COVID is hurting these places, I have to think that there is just less demand since normies are either not getting dates to begin with, or have taken the Red Pill, and know that splurging on dinner will not result in "dessert".

That's a shame. They had good burgers.

I think this has little to do with the pandemic. A lot of casual dining establishments were struggling even before the pandemic. Chili's, Applebee's, TGI Friday's, and Ruby Tuesday were all good examples.

There's nothing that differentiates Ruby Tuesday from a lot of other places. No differentiation = bad in marketing.

Dinner dates have been declining over the past decade, but there are still too many unoriginal simps who take women on dinner dates within the first 3 dates before they've had sex.

However, I'll make the case that the bad mating environment is a contributing factor to the whole segment of casual dining declining, including Ruby Tuesday. While Ruby Tuesday is typically not a destination for an early stage dating, it would eventually enter the routine of established couples. Ruby Tuesday's business model is based upon established couples, often with children and often living in the suburbs, going for a meal in their casual environment. It has a basic menu with a lot of items and wide appeal. That's perfect for Mom, Dad, and the 2 kids. The problem is that with such a bad mating environment, there isn't as much demand for a place for the family and there's not demand for the suburbs. The Millennials aren't doing the whole home ownership in the suburbs and having kids thing as much as previous generations because they've been affected by 2 nasty economic depressions in 12 years. They don't have the money for houses. Even if they did, they are highly prone to layoffs, so why buy a house when you have layoff risk? Additionally, Millennials' romantic relationships are often as transient as their corporate employment. Unchecked female hypergamy is enabling women to have a large sexual buffet, a small percentage of men are getting the large buffet, a large percentage of men are thirsty simps with limited access to sex and they scavenge for it. This bad mating environment and fundamental familial structure change is why casual dining restaurants like Ruby Tuesday are restructuring significantly through bankruptcy proceedings.

Covid has made me eat out much less because I dont feel like putting on a mask. Many restaurants in my area make you put one on till you get to the table. Used to eat out 4-5 times per month now it’s once at most.

I have not missed indoor dining all that much during the pandemic. In 2013, I learned the Manosphere mantra of "no dinners in restaurants with dates prior to sex". That cut down on the number of dinner dates. Even before 2013, I had never really liked dates in restaurants.

I'm a decent cook. I prefer eating my own home cooked meals. I've also been known to get food delivered. In 2019, I would also enjoy stopping at Whole Foods and getting buffet items on the way home from work every 10-15 days or so. I haven't done that since the pandemic started. I don't even know if Whole Foods does that anymore.

It was around 2016-17 that I started to get disciplined about not getting processed foods or foods with any soy or soy derivative products. Around the same time, I started the arduous task of eliminating porn and masturbation from my life. These two actions combined made me more aggressive in approaching and seduction, and also improved sexual performance.

When you eat clean like this, it makes it difficult to eat in restaurants. Many restaurants and cuisines use a lot of processed items.

I also dislike the whole mask thing as well. While I will wear masks in public places indoors, such as a grocery store, I will not enjoy doing it. I would rather sit at home and not wear a mask than go in public and wear masks.

I miss bars much more than I miss indoor dining room dining occasions. I miss any sort of mass gathering more than indoor dining.

I hear ya. What is total bs around my area is that waiters/waitresses won't even take your order if you aren't wearing a mask at your table. Yet they walk past several patrons that are eating without masks all the time and will stop by your table as you're eating to see if you need anytying else.
Will Robinson...This does not compute...

Covid didnt kill any business, it just catalyzed processes already in progress.

Even hotels were losing their revenues for the simple fact that people found renting small flats to be better for the same cost.

Clubs and restaurants were slowly falling cause online dating, social networks and such allows women noy to really interact with strangers to get attention as much as free internet finally spread red pill knowledge thus saving wise betas time and money.

The only sector that got fvcked up from covid is probably air transport and travels.

Also its getting harder and harder to eat out if you are into clean eating and macro planning, they throw you fats and sugar while counting proteins by the gram.

No more hotels for me unless it’s winter. I just bought a camper.

First date should always be either a drink followed by shots or just straight movie at your place. Traditional dating is bogus.

I disagree, I think Covid has had a profound effect on restaurants. The restaurant business is one of the hardest to succeed at in the first place, it wouldn't take a lot to topple it. Now throw in all these Covid restrictions, and obviously a lot of them are going to fail, which is what we have seen.

Restrictions vary by location, and many are self imposed by whoever owns the business. Some places are, or have been, limited to 25% or 50% capacity. Salad bars have been eliminated or replaced by a system where only the server can get food from it. Additional cost for plastic barriers, printing disposable menus, individual salt and pepper packets instead of shakers, more cleaning supplies, etc. Some places have been limited to take out only, not to mention missing months of revenue when they were closed down completely.

I went to one restaurant this summer where they packing in the customers, they had them at every table. The employees wore masks, but only certain areas had the plastic barriers. They were clearly about making the money.

In my area, a lot of restaurants would lose money or break even in staying open. Not enough volume, too many restrictions, too many additional Covid related costs(delivery services/ordering apps taking their cut, plastic containers and delivery items, barriers, signs and decals, etc).

Then you also have restaurants that have added Covid related surcharges or revised their menu to different items that would be more profitable for them or make delivery/carry out easier.

This winter is going to be a real test for areas where it gets to freezing temps because the will definitely lose the outdoor patio space or people will not want to eat outside in the cold.

I think some just stay open and hope that things will turn around soon. Then there are some restaurants that can absorb losses for a year and write it off on their taxes next year to balance things out. But I think they are only able to gamble on a years worth of losses or break even scenarios. My $.02
