Absolutely. Even if a valuable/collectable/real estate is appraised (in good faith) by a legitimate expert with years of experience, the potential buyer can stlll “low ball” ie offer much less than the appraised value.

Exactly right. The price of diamonds went sky high when the industry through advertising, convinced men a diamond gift given to the woman equaled love. It virtually upped their products perceived value by the male which in turn upped their sale price. I think it is the best product advertising campaign in history…

I think it has more to do with feminism and the appearance of female independence than anything else. Many of the new crop of ladies do not want to be held down by a dude, or do not want to be married. They'd rather work on their "career" than raise a family. It's more on the female side then the male side.

I would agree with this. More millennial women are refusing marriage more than any other generation. Why? This could be debated. Women as primary or at least 50/50 earners, #metoo and feminism, and lack of real men to marry come to mind.

Some say traditional brick and mortars are closing, and they are. But I really doubt jewelry stores are taking a hit due to this. I mean, who on earth would purchase an expensive piece of jewelry, $2000-$10,000, solely off the internet?!

the problem is like always apraises work like the max possible, but then you need to consider if you sell at least you will lose half, since teh buyer will resell so he will only have a 12k max, but he knows he won't sell on that price, plus he will clean up and possible change some metals, all that lower the selling price, with the dude will want to recoup and some plus for doing so, the wrong thing is expecting to sell the same price you bough something new, don't matter what

To answer OP - yeah, marriage is becoming more and more outdated and the people who want kids are seeming to do more of date someone and then “coparent” due to people’s fickleness when it comes to relationships.
