Hey guys, do you find yourself talking badly about other people?
Or judge others often?
-If I find someone repugnant, I'll express my sentiments out loud and to their face(s), yep
-We all "judge" ourselves and others. Our contemporary fixation on being "non-judgmental" is the equivalent of trying to cook spaghetti, without boiling water... We're trying to do an end run around the sometimes disquieting work of investigating the accuracy of our thoughts and beliefs I.E. Our judgments
If you find yourself deifying someone, dehumanizing them, or labeling them a mediocrity, it's prudent to explore alternative ways of viewing this same person. Real-Life Ex.
Joseph Stalin was apparently deemed unremarkable by many of his peers, yet he became one of the most powerful men on Earth, remained so until his death, and was/is one of a minute handful who can honestly boast: "I altered and shaped the course of human history"
Perhaps he wasn't as bright, attractive, eloquent, or charismatic as his aforementioned peers who sneered dismissively at him. Dude who was anything but "a mediocrity" though
