What about if you happen to have a damn fast, logical mind and can outsmart them and twist their words, and manipulate the arguement better? When I really start trying most people give up.

Though I tend not to like being stubborn, so I say a bit and when they are starting to get flustered and defensive I just stop, it becomes pointless.

you are right djbr, but when you say take action, you will find thats oftne not possible, if its a dumb argument you can leave her hanging, but genraly the best way to stop the argument is by not disagreeing with her.

If some one told her you cheated on her and you really didnt then obviously you ownt agree but rather then just saying no i didnt, in that situation you would ask how she knows this, once she says her freind told her, then you can say her freind is wrong, this way you do not say to ehr she is wrong.

Basicly people do not want to be proven wrong, so dont prove them wrong, try to look at it from their prespective.

An argument takes 2 people so like djbr said dont argue back, but im just telling you what you should do, which is show her oyu understand where shes ocmming form even if you dont, and dont try and prove her wrong, infact if she knows shes wrong and oyu both know it yet you do not tell her shes wrong, then she will respect you.

See, women arugue, they get emotional and for most guys, it makes you want to get emotional back and that's when the real arguement starts. Just check yourself, and say "I don't need this" and leave the issue alone.

I agree, if a woman is going to get emotional over something simple, there's no reason to defend yourself.

I got into an argument with a coworker last friday, she kept accusing me of doing this and that, some of what she said was right, some of what she said was wrongfully assumed. I then said outloud "OKAY, LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT" and then repeated what she said, and I just nodded okay then got back to my work. She went back to work too.

An AFC would do the same, but offer solutions or rebuttals which escalate the argument into further unproductive and bitter time.

If you are in a ltr, every time one of you calls the other one a name or says something in anger designed to hurt as much as possible, the ltr will carry the burden of that fight forever. Couples who fight a lot can't ever really make up because they are just continuing the same fight and picking up where they last left off. Apologies are cheap. It is ten times better to bite your tongue than say something you regret, because some statements can never be fully taken back.

The book "How to make friends and influence people" offers a good tip - when you argue with someone, even if you are the Angel of Reason, they will only believe in their own opinion even more.

The best way to win an argument is to agree with the other person, but suggest alternatives (criticise the problem, not the person). I've done this with every LTR problem and it worked like a charm.

Don't, for the love of God, fall into this trap of feeling like Einstein of verbal communication. Use silence. Use eye contact. Use spontainety. Use kino.
