I would say most of the time, there are (obvious) signals, especially if you do not know the girl or anyone who knows her. However I remember knowing a girl (who had a boyfriend) who I met a couple of times at a club and stuff who was always with some female friend who didn't seem interested in me at all next thing I know (to be honest I'm wondering how this all went down..especially the 'transition' part I'm kissing that female friend of hers every other weekend and end up in bed with her and then break it off, because she had a crush on me...I also know a girl who never really acted like she was into my friends..like I couldnt have told it at all...and little time later she has the biggest crush on him ever...I think sometimes a girl might be scared to show her lust/affection for a guy if they have mutual friends or know each other already..if a girl is interested and you dont know her at all, even if she's sorta shy there's probably always gonna be some obvious glances at least...

Signs and IOIs are great, but you guys think about them the wrong way. They aren't green lights or stop signs. They're only reassurance. If the girl you're gaming is giving you lots of good signs, then its pretty safe to assume you're in. If she isn't, that doesn't nessicarily mean she doesn't like you, but she may be shy, like others have said. Don't give up if you don't see little details like bigger pupils or slight changes in body position. It doesn't matter. If your game is good enough, she'll still be attracted to you in her mind. And that's the only place it really matters, huh?

It's good to know what different things like a girl twirling her hair usually means, but like stated: don't over analyze. It's very very much depending on who the girl is. Some girls wont show any signs at all and some are extremely flirty with ALL guys. The same action can mean very different things with different girls. For instance, a certain girl may hold your hand and for her thats a huge thing - for another girl it's just a normal thing to do while engaged in a conversation.
I say it's better to lead than trying to pick up subtile hints in body language or pitch of voice etc. Be flirty yourself, stand closer than normal while speaking to her, use kino and so on and se how she reacts to that! If you're still uncertain pull away and see if she is the one to initiate further contact or if she is only using you to boost her ego without any real intentions of letting it go further.

I voted yes but it depends on how you define "obvious". I can tell if a girl is interested in several different ways which are obvious to me but other people may find confussing. Also there are signs that I miss from time to time because of the mannerisim of the girl in question.
