"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

i have just recently gotten out of a 2 year relationship and really am lacking in the confidence area right now. anyways, i went into a best buy and this girl which i will say is an 8 checked me out and starting talking to me. she asked if i wanted to try 8 free issues of some magazine and i said no thank you. i pull out my best buy card to pay for the cd and she says i see you have a best buy card. i said yeah and it's just about maxed out. she asked to see my id and i told her that that really was me in the picture, that i just recently cut my hair. so she starts asking me all these questions about my hair and stuff like did i blow dry it since it was long and i said yeah since my hair was so thick. anyways i was working my way up to either asking her out or asking for her number. didn't really know which one would have been better to do. anyways a rather large family came to her line since she was the only one checking out and i never asked either. my question is do you guys think i stilll have a chance at either. i planned on going in there today to see if she was working. could use a little help with the approach. Thanks.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

DO NOT GO BACK TODAY WITH THE PURPOSE OF GETTING HER NUMBER. That seems way too desperate. If you go in with another purpose, maybe to buy something, and she just HAPPENS to be there, should be no harm in trying again.

i wasn't going to go in there for the sole purpose of asking for her number or asking her out. i was planning on buying a cd and then if she was working going to her line and saying something like hey remember me, i'm the one who used to blow dry his hair. and then going from there. sound ok?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

dont say "hey remember me?" it makes you sound really insecure. Just go up to her and talk like she remembers you. Like "Hey how are you today?" make small talk, get number and leave.
