dude i dont care what you all say about Jesus Christ.
There is only one God, and getting there is the faith in Jesus.
OP:
Ive been in your situation, yeh its hard because life may just seem kind of heading no where and living for today and right now seems to futile.
here is my recomendation:
- Get to know God, He will guide you and a spiritual connection will show you there is a higher knowledgeable being that can guide you on your request.
- Get to know yourself, what you like, what you dislike.
- Pick up hobby/s
- Get real accountable friends
- Connect back with your parents, learn from them, because the only humans that know you best is the people that made you.
- Using your interests and your topics, research what career options will suit you. for example, i hate being behind a desk 8 hours a day, so i picked up consulting where i travel to client sites and im always on the move. i like presenting and wearing nice suits. this allows me to do that. but ive got a cousin that loves to fix peoples muscle problems (freaky) so hes a physio, i have a friend who loves to be bossy, yes, hes a cop.
- Stay busy.
- GET A MENTOR - read and understand how this person did what they did.
- Believe a motto - mine is "ill sleep when im dead"
I rekindled my relationship with Jesus, I now have a purpose and a relationship with a higher being.
I understood what i like and dislike and aligned myself to doing things i like, like my career.
I got friends that i can count on to keep me on point. like i have a trainer friend, that pushes me at the gym and health wise, i have an accountant friend that guides me financially when i need advice and friends that have their own places.
I have a mentor that i follow and i tackle situations with God and my knowledge of how this person got there.
and my Motto - makes me work harder than ever, but i play harder than anyone else i know..everything i do i put my full in and at the end of the day i feel like wow! i achieved something.
ps: i have 3 hobbies - MMA, mountain biking and kite surfing. it lets me fight the elements and push myself to the limits...
i guess as MAN we were not made to sit around and have everything prepacked. our forefathers chased and speared their dinners whereas we microwave it. and that fight to survive and the excitment of livin that wild life with free running and more relevant problems (like where to hunt today)is what we are made to face, not - my boss will fire me if i dont make these burgers, or what color shirt should i wear...
i always wonder if id enjoy it more living in the age old days where man hunted and ran free..
good luck anyway
