I totally disagree with these guys. As I said in another thread, you can't blame Diablo for applying the rules, you should blame SoSuave's founder for imposing some rules that frankly I don't like either. Rules as "no politics" and "no threads already discussed" are pretty stupid in a forum, since the meaning of a discussion board is to discuss... also things already talked about.

I dont blame Diablo for closing political threads. But this thread was economical, it had a small portion of politics in it, but the vast vast majority was on economics. This is where the rules become blurred, and this is where it is being a nazi closing a thread like that. No other mod closed it, and most over the years I have been here would have let it go on. It was NOT degenerating, and was NOT political. So a few people can go into a thread and say, liberal politics SUCK, and it will be closed? Even if its someones journal on their latest "field reports"? Same difference. A few idiots making political comments does not make a thread political. Thats my problem. I never said Diablo should be banned or have his mod status taken away as I dont post here enough these days to really see any of the posts he has made. I have just noticed a few threads being closed lately that would have not been closed over the last 4+ years. Have the "rules" changed recently?

I was too vague. My point, there is TOO much here, its not one forum, its 10 and expecting it all to be moderated (properly or not) is unrealistic.

There is a lot of great stuff here, but huge heaps of garbage too that needs to be taken out (by the mods) on an hourly basis.

actually, I haven't checked out mystery method, and don't intend to. In defense of Diablo, I haven't ever seen him post an illogical or overreacted post, and I have been with this site for a fair amount of time (although of late I have not checked in at all). I respect him. I am not a$$kissing right now, but just stating some truth. Besides, even if Diablo was perfect, he will always have someone to detract from him, as do all authorities.
