for EVERYBODY, eventually. If everyone lived forever, the world would be standing room only in short order! If YOU lived forever, and nobody else did, you'd watch all your loved ones die, and you'd KNOW that such was going to be the case, after 50 years or so, too! So what happiness could you have, hmm? it would be a HELL, actually. You'd never bother to do anything, cause you'd have time enough to do EVERYTHING, so anything you chose to do would just be a whim, and thus, completely unsatisfying! So why do it?

So you see, death is not a thing to fear. It is a WELCOME "way out", when you are trapped by enemies, ruined by disease or accident, irretreivably dishonored, and so on. Being crippled-diseased, now THAT is to be feared, but Death offers a way out, unless you are a weak-assed punk, or somehow get ruined from the neck down, too quickly to do anything about it. The BASIS for a belief in "god" is the fear of death, so the entire thing is irrational. Death is GONNA happen, so why stress out over a known outcome?

There is no reason to believe in an "afterlife", nor should your po'lil' ego NEED such a promise. This is it, guys, there's never going to be anything else, we are never leaving this solar system, and the earth's resources are going to be used up in <50 years if we don't stop increasing the human population. Mother nature is going to do that FOR us if we don't do it voluntarily. She ALWAYS finds a way to "knock back" a ruinously over populated species. Most likely, we are going to get a pandemic that makes the Black Death of Europe (1500s) look like a picnic.

So go ahead, be selfish a-hole and have your "own" kids, instead of adopting and caring for those already here. That way you'll get wiped out, as you deserve, for being as dumb as a lizard.

What makes us human? Upright posture, specialized hand with opposible thumb, color vision, depth perception, sweating, permanently receptive female. In these, I see only animal characteristics.

NOT out of instinct, but out of awareness that a given thing (winter, tsnanmai, etc) IS going to happen, or is likely ENOUGH to make preparation very highly advisable. Ability to read and write, so that information can be preserved intact, with nothing lost or added, as almost always happens with mere verbal commo and memorization.
