I have been with my husband for seven years and we have been married for a little less than one. He is the love of my life and we have a lot in common but there is one thing we cannot seem to agree on. A couple of times a month, I like to go out with my friends dancing or to a bar, generally from about 9 p.m. until after midnight. My husband says this is inappropriate for a married woman. We’re all in our late 20s and early 30s. It’s a mostly female group, but our male friends are invited and often come as well.

When she’s out she has to be reachable by phone at all times only have a certain amount of drinks and be back by a certain time.

Alpha vs. Beta is just marketing BS invented by authors to sell the relationship material to sappy/gullible people. Sure there're traits of being a confident man but here in lies the problem. To be confident in these situations you have to have the IDGAF attitude but because you have the IDGAF attitude means you're not really emotionally attached to a woman. I am used to having my girlfriend take compliments, being hit on by strangers when we go out.... It never made me jealous or changed my behavour. I knew she was mine and I always controled the exit (me and her leaving together), sure I made my presence known to the guys but It always ended up friendly and it was the end of it.

A jealous person is a weak person. Jealousy is an expression we all lived... it comes from a negative emotions.

There you go- shows the type of woman I was talking about. They want to create jealousy because they get a high from seeing guys fighting over her. Happens all the time.

I just don't understand why guys even bother complimenting a woman when she's already with someone...I mean she already knows she's beautiful. She's been told that her whole life, why put her on the pedestal? What do you get out of it? her attention?

Jealousy is a normal reaction when one fears the loss of something he/she loves. I agree that jealousy shouldn't mean acting on every compliment or every little thing that happens like in your case above or the case of this topic. However, there's usually a pattern of things from the partner that creates that level of jealousy. If someone compliments my gf I wouldn't care, in fact, I'd chime in and thank the guy. However, if my gf has a habit of flirting or asking for attention just for the ego boost I will see the same compliment as an advance. Again, if it's a plate who cares, if it's your wife you will care.

I agree... if he wants to keep her then he has to put in some effort...
