"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

So, I'm 5'6 and straight out of the video gamer dungeon, and into the big world of attractive females and already established DJs (and those who pretend to be so.) While I can go far with my newfound confidence and sarcasm and tips learned from here, there's one problem that seems to be getting in the way of competing for girls, and that's being challenged physically in front of them.

You know, the chest-pounding push matches, and getting styled on by taller boys who have spent way more time at the gym than I have. While the default reaction to somebody pretending you are a piece of furniture is to brush them off and assert yourself, the problem comes when they challenge you to "do something about it."

Now I know how this goes and it normally doesn't end well, usually with me dealing with assault charges regardless if I actually dealt any damage or even managed to win, so the smart option is to pass on the fight.

So, how do you opt out of fighting without losing cred or respect? Or, what is the "non-***** way" to turn down a fight that'll maintain my cred to girls or make me more appealing for doing so?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I would suggest bulking up maybe? It's about the image, most people nowadays do not wanna start fights and end up fighting in a bar or sth, it makes everyone look like fools. It's more about intimidation.

I've never come across anything like this. I don't think it is a real concern, you joined today, 7 posts, at most this is AFC's preconceived notions. You should not come across any situation in which you will face something like this.

Can you give a more specific example?

What sort of verbal exchanges are you getting into that leads someone to say to you "do something about it?"

I wouldn't worry about "street cred" or any nonsense like that....
1. If you can handle yourself you never need to prove it: Think about it, if you were driving a ferrari and you stopped at the traffic
lights and some morons pull up beside you and start challenging you to a race by raving their engine and all that jazz.......
2. Imagine if you were out with a girl and some barfly tries to fight you. You don't want to look like a puzzy so you let your ego get in
the way and go for the fight. The girl gets glassed. What then?
3. If the girl encourages fighting.....she ain't worth your time or energy.

At 5'6" getting really bulked up, you run the danger of the "little guy syndrome", you know, overcompensating............and just because someone is bulked, it does not mean they know how to handle themselves. In fact, a little bulked up guy is more likely to attract getting a slap....

I would recommend you take up BJJ. Just knowing that you would be able to yank the fvcking knee off a bigger guy if it came to it, will fill you with an "inner knowing". A humble confidence. But hopefully the respect and humility that you learn in the gym will control your ego when presented with volatile situations......

Yeah i have to be honest i have never encountered this situation, like ever.

I do have a friend that gets in fights quite a bit and its because he's an idiot.

You should never ve more than slightly drunk at the clubs rule number 1 and if you act like a damn adult you wont have a problem.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

A fulfilled and secure man would never do this so start with knowing that at least you're better than them.

As stated before, it is very unlikely that you will be involved in a situation like this and even if you do find yourself in a similar situation it will usually involve preluding events that suggest staying with a woman which would cause you to be involved in situations like these is not right.

Nevertheless if it still happens then you should just stay down because it will most certainly end up very badly for both of you.
1. You could get killed.
2. You could kill him and potentially face charges.
3. You could get badly injured; possibly paralyzed, even.
4. You could have his friends come back to avenge him.

And the list goes on and on. So just politely say that you intend no harm and back away from the whole situation.

Just remember....

Someone is always tougher than you think you are.

Learn to diffuse situations and walk away. Too many crazies outside there.

He's asking exactly how to diffuse situations..............

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

1) it has very little to do with height. You remind me an Ex of mine who was over 6 fee. from some reason she thought she could kick my butt cause she is one inch taller.

2) you can avoid 99% of confrontations if you play it smart. It is also about your image and status.

3) going to the gym is not abad idea.
