Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

I'm a Freshman in High School. The girl I'm talking about is a Sophomore. I didn't really find this website till about January. Before that, I did some bad damage, and I'm still paying for it.

Around October, I pretty much got over my one-itis, first crush thing. I was so use to having her in my head, that I was confused. Then one time at lunch, I found a girl (Jane) that sparkled to me. Jane wasn't exactly the prettiest, but that olive skin with the dyed red hair and the way she looked at me that one time just made me forget about my previous one-itis. I knew she was older than me, and I loved older women, so that put her even higher on the pedastal (remember this, she's not the prettiest girl, but she got my attention for the dumbest reasons). Later do I found out that same day that one of her best friends is actually a girl in my class that I talk to a lot.

So the AFC told Jane the next day i had a crush on her. I was actually expecting for her to like me. Did she? Uh. No. She made me feel like schmit.

Here's the problem: I'm the most paranoid person I've ever met. I see this girl maybe twice a day in the hall, and everytime I see her I'm convinced she's talking about me or laughing at me as she walks in the opposite direction. Her best friend, however, is a conceided person and hates when I bring up the topic. So is there anyway to forget about it? Does this happen to anyone else? I know I went about this the wrong way when I told her I liked her, but is there anyway of riding this problem?

Thanks for any help.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

The fact is she doesn't like you and never will, she probaly doesn't even recognize you enough to take the time to laugh at you. And if she does it doesn't matter beacuse you will NEVER get with her.

Ok listen up. Just forgget about this girl. Act like nothing has happened. I'm not sure what you meant by "everytime I bring it up." JUST DON'T BRING IT UP THEN.

If she bring it up, just play it off casually like, "yea, I used to like her, but you know what I like ice cream too." or "yeah I don't really like her anymore. she's ok I guess."

Play it off like you don't care, and soon you really won' tcare.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
