Dating in Portugal

I've been living in the UK for 40 years, and am starting to plan for an early retirement when I'm 55. I've been to Portugal a number of times, and enjoy the weather and playing golf, and quite fancy moving to the Algarve.
I'm interested to hear whether anyone has moved from an English speaking country (I don't speak Portuguese, but plan to learn) to a non-english speaking country and how they found dating?
I don't really want to find and take an LTR with me from the UK, just so I can bang regularly.

As you might now , most Portuguese are quite fluent in English , so the language barrier is not necessarily a problem ( depending on the target group . Older people tend to not speak good English )

Portuguese women on average are shy . Just as Greek women are

but there are a lot of expats and tourists , so I would not be that worried about it
