Men who date single moms can't get anything else.
Agree for the most part. This is most applicable for childless men having sex with single moms.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the target market for this article is 20 something men considering a dating a mom in her 30s/40s.

#1 She’s got a wild sex drive.
This is a benefit but not exclusive to a single mom. Plenty of childless women have this.

#2 She’s a mom. And moms are super fun.
Childless women are generally more fun. A 35 year old childless woman is more fun than a 35 year old single mom. With the target market of this article being 20 something men, the typical 20 something man can get a 20 something woman who is more fun than any single mom.

#3 She’s got life experience like you won’t believe.
#4 She’s more independent.
Irrelevant

#5 She isn’t social media obsessed.
Often not true

#6 She’s way less likely to play games.
Often not true

#7 You’ll grow up.
Irrelevant

My unpopular opinion: Men who date single moms can't get anything else.
It the mid'90s, before I had discovered GeoMaxxing, it seemed like the only chicks that were both available and not snooty towards me were single mommies. That was a very dark time for me.

This was also the mid-1990s and you were dealing with Generation X women. Millennials had worse attitudes during their primes in the 2000s/2010s. That's saying something.

That article reads like parody.
Say MILF and guys imagine a hot, older pornstar. In reality, you get a saggy, out of shape, full of baggage woman.

Those can't be men, more like soyboys. :D

#8. She'll probably have all kinds of rad toys in her house and chicken nuggets she can feed you while you play with them because it's obvious to everyone but you, that you missed out on a childhood.

If you want to play GI JOEs though, invite me over, I've got the F-14 Tomcat!

LOL -

#4 She’s more independent. While it’s not out of the realm of possibility to get a clingy cougar, odds are she’s got her own life established, and she’s not afraid to spend her time there. While you will obviously have a special spot as her boyfriend, she also has her career and her kids to think about. Don’t be afraid of mentioning a night off with the guys when dating an older woman.

Hmm, I don't think this is usually true. In my past mistakes, I fvcked around with two of them. Both, good jobs, 100K plus a year (this was 10 plus years ago), and was still having money issues along with hanging on to alimony and child support. So; not too sure about this. One, I learned, filed bankruptcy too. Decent sex though; I'll give the author that.

Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

I think moreso there was the demographics of the Baby Bust, where there were fewer women at a lower age than men.

Older Baby Boomer men were taking out early Generation X women? Was that the dynamic of the 1990s singles market?

You were also disadvantaged with your height. Your lack of height was likely the biggest issue.

I think the demographics was an equal detriment. I feel that had there been good demographics, there would have been a surplus of women, so there would be enough women that would feel that they can't be too picky on height to get a good professional man; with the woman shortage, my professional job was only of interest to single mommies    , and fatties of course.

In the United States, it is common for Gen Y/Millennials (my generation) to think that Boomers and Generation X had a healthier mating environment in their younger years.

In the late 1980s-1990s United States, you were relying way too much upon your professional job to attract women. While you probably had an above average job at the time (especially for your age as a 20s/early 30s guy), it wasn't enough to offset your height issues. Earlier in 2023, this forum had a thread where an idea was expressed that women were not interested in middle class men, defined typically as 30+ men earning $75,000-125,000 a year in the initial post.

In the 1990s, you were the equivalent of the $75,000 - $125,000 earning man of 2023 who doesn't generate a lot of interest from desirable women.

In the 1990s, you likely would have had to substantially increase your salary to impress women as a 5'5" man. You probably would have needed your direct supervisor's job and salary level at you age to impress similarly aged childless women in the United States.

It was expected that a man with below average height and maybe a slightly above average white collar job would only attract attention from single moms and overweight childless women. That's also been true in the post-2000 USA dating market too.

Even physically attractive single moms in their 30s/early 40s are not great dating prospects. For a younger guy in his early to mid 20s, they might be novelty for something like 6-12 months. That's a casual sex situationship. For a childless 35-40 year old man, a 35-40 year old physically attractive single mother isn't that enticing of an option. Those men would rather have childless 35-40 year olds or childless women under 35.

When I was a full-time aerospace engineer, I made less than that amount (that salary scale was barely attainable for folks in SoCal who had 10+ years of experience), but for my relatively poor region, it was good money. Stupid me, I had thought that being an engineer should have attracted women to me.:mad:
