Haven't seen it on here so I'm going to put it on you.
I was having a think sesh earlier and came up with this.
If you've got a bit of rapport going and are going to ask for the number, simply say, "Hey (xxx_HBname_xxx), date?"
Now the genius behind it is that if she's into you, then perfect, she'll give you her number, and if she says no, you go along the lines of, "What do you mean? / I was asking for the date", which'll make her feel silly, and/ or make her think about why she's thinking of you in that way, and finally, because,unless she's dull, if she isn't into you she can simply tell you the date, as you didn't 'put her on the spot' and make her feel pressured and what not.
Give us a bit of banter on this one will ya.
