"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

So I went out with this girl on Friday night. The original plan was to go bowling, but she shows up without any socks. I ask her if she wants to go back to her place to get some, to which she replies "we can do it after we eat". Ok then, that's cool with me. Well, during dinner I tell her that I'm a musician. She starts to make it very clear that she doesn't want to go bowling. She suggests going back to my place if we happen to decide against bowling, so that we can play with my instruments. I hated to do it but I gave her a no-go on going back to my place. I didn't anticipate that she would want to do as much and my place looked like **bleep**. Anyway, we ended up going to the batting cages and just driving around trying to find a **bleep** park that wasn't swarming with people, with no success. What I'm getting at here is that it seemed to me that she was being a bit manipulative. If she didn't want to go bowling, why didn't she just suggest something else from the start? Did she show up in sandals intentionally? Just so we'd have to find something else to do?

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

HAHAHA. Guy, take that as a lesson learned, but don't take it too hard up your ass. :) Don't call her for several days, she wanted but you didn't give any, next time you make the date, just as her to come over and don't tell her what we gonna do (tell don't know yet if she ask). Then you put on a chick movie, hold her hand on the coach, one thing to another, you know.

I'm not convinced that she wanted to come over for sex. She doesn't seem very experienced when it comes to this kind of thing. She says she doesn't like movies that much, but really likes videogames only she's not at home very often.

You're an idiot. You can't see it can you?

The sandals aren't the important part... she WANTED TO GO TO YOUR PLACE.

What the hell do movies and videogames have to do with it?

You missed it dude. Better luck next time. This was an obvious come-on.

Tell me this: Why would a chick INSIST to go to your place otherwise? DO you have exotic animals on display? Is your house made of gold?

No.

She wanted to BE ALONE with you. In YOUR HOUSE. Where you HAVE SEX.

So in conclusion:
1. SHE WANTED TO FVCK YOU.
2. Make sure that your place is clean from now on so you can do the deed anytime.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

There is still a chance. Blowing her off does not mean it's all lost. Especially if the date was otherwise stimulating to her. Wait a week, play it cool, they do her.

She never mentioned going to my house until after I told her I played music. Also, the rest of the date went well. I got a kiss from her at the end.
