Date rape drugs

I was drinking at a bar with some buddies and noticed some guy putting something in one of my (female) friend's drink when she was talking to me. So I threw the drink into his face and told him loudly to stop putting stuff into my friend's drink, and he grabbed the glass and bailed out into the crowd. We looked around for him but couldn't find him (bloody wimp), so she's making a police report.

Now I've seen those TV commercials and college posters warning people to be careful with their drink, but this is the first time I've actually seen it happen.

Does anyone know if date rape pills are common? It seems sh1tty that they're circulating around. I mean alcohol is one thing, but these drugs seem to take away your self-control completely. Especially how most of the drugs dont seem to have taste or colour.

this is what scares me when one my girlfriend goes to a party or anything. I tag along just to keep her safe. Thats the only way that I let her go because of past experiences with alcohol.

Plus my current girl's family was a family of alcoholics. That scares me to death of her getting hooked. I will forcibly stop her if need be.

It was a very crowded bar, and he probably just didn't notice me.

I was a little drunk, so I didn't have the sense to grab him or stop him. All I knew was that some guy was slipping stuff in her drink (for a second I even had the crazy idea he was poisioning her).

Well, live and let live. We're gonna be more careful about our drinks from now on.
