"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Alright, as a recovering AFC (as well as somebody whos recovering from just general social anxiety disorder) my first attempt at applying the DJ theory goes something like this.

I got this hot chicks number (Id rate her an 8.5) in one of my classes. Called her 2 days later, left a voice mail saying to call me back. She never called back as far as i knew, but next time i saw her she said she called back thinking it was my cell phone (not house phone) and somebody else picked up so she assumed she wrote down the wrong number from her phone. (actually happened)

She apologized for not actually getting in touch with me. I told her that was okay and if she still wanted to hang out sometime. She said yeah maybe this week (our week off). We talked for a half hour and she said she was gonna go, i leaned in to hug her and she leaned in to kiss me, so i kissed her on the cheek. We laughed at how we fvcked that up and i told her its cool because we'll get it right next time.

Called her 2 days later and left a message after she didn't pickup her phone again saying that maybe she could come over and watch a movie or something. Made a joke about how i wasnt sure if it was a good idea because 'the bad girl in her wanted to take advantage of me'.

She hasn't called me back as far as i know. (hopefully the fvckers i live with didn't tell her it was the wrong number again).

Basicly i know not to get one-itis with this chick, but whats the most graceful way to handle when you know a chick likes you but doesn't return a call. Do you wait a few days to call her again, or just continue calling her once a week to try to hookup with her, or do you just wait till you see her again in person (which wouldn't be for 3 weeks in this case)....

Heh i know, i know im probably making too big of a deal over this... and i do have other girls to persue, but this one is definintely my top choice at the moment.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

I would continue to be carefree and funny around her in person, and if she asks about getting together, just say, gimme a call sometime we'll see what we can workout. But under no means are you to call her again until she calls you 5 times. You've made enough effort to hang out here.
