It is not a myth precisely because they say it is and also forbid them to talk about it. Stupid. I’ve often fantasized about suing the US government for a few years now and how I’d go about doing it too. But I don’t want to end up ‘committing suicide’ by shooting myself in the back of the head 6 times with a shotgun.

In your case, (being only a pesky citizen) they'd just download child p*orn onto your computer and then get a tip that you had child p*rn on your computer and then very publicly arrest you for having child p*rn on your computer.

I would say you are correct. It is technically possible that they might be held accountable for poor performance during the next election, provided their position is an elected one, but that is a long shot.
