"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Little BACKGROUND, so you don't get lost.

I went out with this girl once, and we had a blast, tons of kino. The day BEFORE we were suppose to go out, she got in trouble with cops (alcohol) and she was grounded by her parents.

She texted me after we flirted/played around at work today... lots of touchy touchy.

She texts me every 1-2 days. (I never initiate ;) ) Great personality. I love to hang out with her.

-------------------------------------

Girl: Hey you know that I can really beat you up. I was just being nice.

Me: Haha OK. How about we meet and settle this, if you aren't scared? ;)

Girl: Oh! I'm shakin haha.

Me: Wait until I see you next time. How about I workout/beat you up tomorrow at 11am?

Girl: Oh I cant. I'm gonna have to cover for someone (TRUE) but how about I beg and beg my parents if they let me hangout for a while after night school and I'll call you if they let me.

Me: Sounds like a plan, if it doesn't work, threaten to run away :)

Girl: Yeah right, cross your fingers. (Sh!t test to see if I am desperate?)

Me: No, it goes numb and starts to hurt. No big deal if we can't hang out.

Girl: Haha your funny. Yeah well, I hope that they (Her parents) say yes, because I still feel bad plus your fun to hang out with.

Me: Ditto. Well, I gotta go and get my beauty sleep :) I'll see ya tomorrow, wet dreams >: )

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
