"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Okay this makes me feel pathetic but I have a hour between classes two days a week. I could go to lunch with the hb 8 but she invites along while she's already hanging with some AFC from her physics class.

So I pass on it, opting to eat lunch by myself. I got some teriaki chicken, sit down, and zone out. This HB7.5 comes up to my table (it's a round table with four seats) and says "do you mind if I join you. I hate eating alone."

And that was that. We hit it off. Talk the rest of the hour until I have to get to Organic Chemistry. She walks to class with me and I see the girl who invited me to lunch with her and the AFC. I get her digits and come away looking like a classic DJ by no real skill of my own. It's the type of situation that makes you feel good yet crappy at the same time.

Anyway I posted this for those who want to approach an HB eating. It is such a nonchalant approach--brilliant in its simplicity. I shall have to try this ASAP.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Ummm did I miss something here? You didn't approach, she approached you! And that doesn't happen often, so I fail to see your point.

Anyhow, congrats on the pimping, "orangic chemistry" reminded me of that tommy lee goes to college show.

well what I mean is finding a reason to be hard on yourself and the emasculating aspect of it. This cute little babe who's 5'3" can do this yet I still get past the AFC stop mechanism when I see an HB I want to approach. But of course over all it's a great thing no doubt.

Ahh the sophistication of a younger EGO. Not to belittle your opinion but yesterday we went to lunch and things are going well so far (I'm skeptic with all women). I'd probably be chillin with her right now If I wasn't fighting off a sinus infection. Anyhow I'm no expert but I think most DJs here would respond to such an assumption with "who cares how you come across. It's about breaking the ice and lowering a woman's defenses."

Obvious I'm not suggesting you do this and come on strong. This is more of a "it's about the journey not the destination" philosophy.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

It's a nonchalant approach. In fact, it's not even an approach at all. I fail to see what this says besides sometimes things fall into your lap. No offense but I fail to see the insight in this post.

You just basically sat and ate. Then a girl approached you. Then you talked. The end.

The insight is we, more specifically I, should be doing this. It's really that simple. If I work up the nerve I'll field test it next week.

Do what? Wait for a girl to approach you? Or are you going to approach them?

actually, i've used that line a few times, and it does work...said "genuinely" of course. i've gotten to know a few girls with that...and also, dining hall approaches are awesome.

i think the OP was trying to say, use the line..."do you mind if i sit with you? i hate eating alone..." or something along those lines. if she's already eyeing you, it's even easier to grab a seat with her.

come on, i know he was a bit vague, but it wasn't that difficult to get his drift.

This is an approach for the shy guy. The whole point of this forum is to beat the shy guy out of you and shape you into a confident man who goes after what he wants without fear. I guess this approach is ok if you're still in the beginner stages. However, don't rely too much on these types of "excuse approaches" or you won't break out of your shell and conquer your fears of approaching directly.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
