To make the story short:
Came across this girl online who graduated from the same high school as me, just a year after. We never met in person at that time but saw each other around. Smart girl, pretty cute. Exchanged pics - both liked each other's. Seems lo lean towards the conservative side (Doesn't talk about sex, returns calls but usually doesn't call me first).
Last week she invited me to some cultural event that her dad's company was hosting or something and she invited me early in the week (Wed) and it would take place Fri. On Friday the weather was horrible, and when she finally called to tell me she was at the place, it was 9:30 and the place was closing in an hour or so so I told her it'd be pointless. We agreed to go out the next day.
I called her and she didn't pick up and so I left her a message. Later online she IMs me saying she called me back and it went directly to my voicemail, but I never received a call from her. So either she was lying or it was one of those rare instances when two people call you at the same time or someone calls when you're making another phone call.
Today, Friday, I told her I needed to do a lot of reading over the weekend and I'd be at Starbucks on sunday and I wanted her to join me. She said "maybe" because that's the time she usually wakes up. I busted on her and said I wasn't going to take no for an answer. We had some laughs and what not, and the convo ended with her saying maybe and that we'd talk later.
I think I did the right thing - I had plans and I told her to tag along and I made it clear that I wasn't going to take excuses. I know that if she's interested, she'll wake up on time to go.
If it just so happens that she doesn't show up, would you NEXT a girl in a scenario like this, given what has happened in retrospect?
