I played coed indoor soccer back in day for a few years along with men's league soccer that I played with the guys on that team...
It was fun, but unless you had really good women players it became only pass it to them if you absolutely had to.
If you had a good woman or women you had a massive advantage. Basically the guys cancelled each other out and the women skill level was the key to being good.
We had some good players and won the championship the first year and got knocked out in the semi's the next year.
Never really hung out with them outside of there but it could lead to that I suppose.

It can get you into the female's social circle. Usually athletic women have attractive friends. More than a couple buddies married girls they met in a volleyball league. It gives you something in common to start.
For my taste, Female Volleyball players are #1. Softball players tend to be more masculine and "sturdy". Soccer players are more petite and in shape. Basketball league girls tend to prefer black guys, while they are tall they will be more mannish than volleyball players. Running groups attract a variety of women.

Playing sports with women can desensitize you to the "attractive woman nerves/anxiety" which makes you more confident when you meet an attractive woman you want to talk to. Running behind some hot "Pace Bootie" and having her drone on about her life teaches you really quick....she's just a girl...

Co-ed sports leagues are another social circle type option. It would be fair to call the effort weak social circle game.
It’s pretty difficult to swoop into a co-ed kickball, softball, volleyball, or soccer league & directly arrange dates and get laid. First, there are more men than women in all these leagues. Plenty of men play in co-ed sports leagues like kickball, softball, soccer, and volleyball in order to meet women Nearly every other guy in these leagues is an unattached guy who is trying to get his penis wet in league because he read some advice article online or in a printed copy of a magazine about doing this.
Yes, it is easier to talk to a woman after a game in a co-ed sports league than it would be to talk to a random woman at the grocery store, mall, or a bar. As a result, many men think that this will be game on easy mode. Most men fail at co-ed sports leagues in terms of getting their penises wet.
