Greetings folks, I was a bit concerned about something. Given the fact that in my home country in Central Africa (as is the case in quite a good number of others), you can rarely ever find any protein supplements at all, the gym I've been going to now for almost two years has come up with a strategy where it orders and imports Whey protein powder from North America, specifically Canada, and they come in very big containers. However, I am wondering if I have anything to be concerned about because the 24g of Whey protein I bought at the gym three weeks ago has 80mg of cholesterol and I just realized that. Should good Whey protein have that much cholesterol? In terms of regular fat, the protein in question has 2g.

The media and doctors have done a very effective job of painting cholesterol as evil, when in fact it is anything but. First of all, your liver will make cholesterol if you dont eat it, it is what hormones are synthesized from. Second, when people have high cholesterol, they really are just very unhealthy people whose bodies are being ravaged by free radicals. The cholesterol acts as a band aid as the body attempts to repair the damage. So giving people cholesterol lowering drugs is basically treating the symptom and not the cause, something western medicine is all too in love with. Don't treat the actual problem, treat the symptom, ensuring years and years of bad health, doctor visits, hospital stays and costly drugs. If you think the FDA, doctors, the american medical association and pharmaceutical companies have your best interest in mind, you are sadly mistaken. They are in business to ensure every american is on drugs from the earliest point in their life possible for the rest of their life.
