I'm looking at my diet and I just have a hard time getting much over 3000 calories. I am in school so I have no income right now. I need some foods like olive oil where its like 6-7 bucks for a bottle of it which will last me weeks and 1 tablespoon is 120 calories right there. I'm having 3 tbsp for 360 calories and it's easy to mix in to stuff. I need more stuff like that, preferably high in protein as opposed to fat, but even with fat I could work it into my diet. Any ideas on how to eat big without breaking the bank?

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Be careful, that's raising the fat content also. I suggest looking into some of the sports drinks for endurance athletes. High in calories/carbs but low in fat. Stick to the ones based on complex carbs to mitigate the crash that comes along with simple sugars.

I have 3 eggs for breakfast and I really don't want anymore. Also I have 3 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp peanut butter, and 510 cals of peanuts.
refusing to eat more eggs is shooting yourself in the foot as far as anabolism is concerned.

have 6tbsp OO, twice as much pb.. I'd avoid peanuts and go for walnuts or almonds or both instead.

What's the story here?
peanuts are a legume (neo carb) and have a poor amino acid profile, contain phytoestrogens (like soy).. walnuts and almonds both contain omega3's and plenty nutrients (including calcium which without dairy products you'd have to get from other sources).

Why so many eggs though? The ones I get are only 70 calories and it is mostly fat. I have to question eating so much of the same food whatever food that might be.
mostly fat? eggs have more protein than fat. please do some basic reading. EFFORT, Throttle as well as myself have long sang the praises of whole eggs for muscle gain. The fat is the anabolic part of the egg.. the whites do very little.

what problem be there?
Wouldn't that be way too much cholesterol especially if you're not eating a diet which offsets it?

ahhhhh, my fat-phobic friend.. ingested cholesterol has nothing to do with your cholesterol levels. in fact people on high fat, high cholesterol diets usually have LOW cholesterol levels.

what kind of diet would offset cholesterol?

You can add eggs to other items in your diet:

- When you're making mashed potatoes add some egg yolks while the potatoes are still hot - it adds color, flavor, and protein.

- Also add eggs to soup. I make chicken soup alot (throw some chicken breasts, celery, carrots, onions, salt, pepper, brown rice into a pot of water). When it's done:

Scramble some raw eggs in a bowl. Slowly pour the scrambled, raw eggs into the hot soup. Stir the eggs with a fork as you're pouring them into the soup to make whispy strands. The eggs will cook when it hits the hot soup. This is how they make asian "egg drop" soup. A great way to make a protein dense soup. You can cut up the chicken breast into tiny pieces and you'll have something you can drink out of a thermos or cup.

Well that's hard to believe with the amount of obese people there are in the States with ridiculously high LDL levels. Now don't get me wrong, I've seen people do well on low carb diets who ate higher levels of fat but it was controlled amounts of non-hydrogenated fats.

As for a diet that helps offset, whole grains have worked wonders for me. Things as simple as bran cereal daily has helped a bunch. Also many of the green vegetables (especially broccoli) has worked in keeping my energy up and my LDL very low.

Who says we're not also taking in a huge amount of green vegetables on a higher fat diet? I've never told anyone to not eat veggies. Remember also that you're an athlete. You could cut out the cereal, use more veggies and still have a great blood profile.

Do all these obese folk eat fatty foods or carby foods.. (they probably eat just too much of both, lol.) If you're obese you're going to have high LDL levels. But in no way is that because of the fact you eat egg yolks.

I'm not convinced that dietary cholesterol has any negative impact on body cholesterol (so long as you produce the stuff normally).

Well, the OP said that he was in school and had no income, I'd be surprised if he's eating all of the green foods that he needs to. For me, I hate raw vegetables with a passion so it's a bit difficult for me to find enough cooked (at least steamed) green foods that aren't intermixed with a ton of corn and carrots which makes my blood/sugar levels spike (hate the crash afterwards).

dietary fat is not linked to fat in your blood.

Cholesterol is good. It raises your testosterone levels. Cut enough fat out of your diet, and you'll one day wake up as a woman.

I eat 40 eggs a week & I feel great.

The timebomb is mixing fats with carbs. If you'd choose, fats are healthier. Obesity is caused by:
-lack of physical activity
-excess caloric intake
-genetic factors (although I think that if you want, you can do someting abou it)
-etc..

Eating fat makes you burn fat.
