I know that times are tough. But can anyone suggest their favorite charily that they trust and why.

thanks

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Shriners Children's Hospitals.

It is amazing to be a Shriner. In our parade units are proud, grown men who are willing to humble themselves as clowns for the amusement of the small children, and to raise money for our free hospitals. Me, I drive a little red Corvette, so my experience is less humbling. Actually it's a blast.

Last summer, a hairstylist broke down and started bawling as she cut my hair. I asked her what was wrong. She said her son had a spinal condition and required a major surgery, and she had no idea how to pay for it. I told her not to worry, that the Shriners would take care of it. And they did.

I see wonderful things as a Shriner. A member of our Divan (the leadership of our Temple), a seemingly normal light-beer drinking and F150-driving man, stood up at a parade afterparty last summer with a check for $25,000,000 in his hands, made out to the Hospital fund. Turns out he is the inheritor of a massive enterprise, obviously a millionaire many times over, and he was compelled to give part of his fortune to the Shrine.
