Master Don Juan
For many, many years, I've heard it over and over again when it comes to my dating life. All of my cousins got married at 21/22 and had kids. I'm going to be 30 in three months. Even though there has been a shift in the thinking of most of my friends and family, I've heard it all. Everytime I would tell someone that I was single and wasn't in a committed relationship, I'd hear things like:
- Oh well, the right person is somewhere out there for you.
- Your soulmate is probably out there in the world wondering where "you" are.
And the worst offender:
- It'll happen when you least expect it.
To which I usually respond: A woman's period or diarrhea, in general, seem to happen when you least expect it, would you want to embark in an exclusive relationship with that?
What are some of the cringe-worthy phrases or dialogues you've heard or had in the past about why you were single at the time - at ANY point of your life?
