Ok, I am a little confused on this part of cardio. I have already gained around 15-20 lbs., which is great, but have also put on a little bit of fat. I started doing cardio today, which actually made me feel awesome. My question is do I eat at all before cardio? Also after the cardio, is it ok to eat like a half hour later? Should I also eat the same volume as I was before doing cardio? This morning I did not eat anything and jogged on the treadmill for 30 min. I plan on doing this 3 times a week, and weight lighting like I was normally before. Does that sound ok? My main goal is to lose as much fat as possible without losing too much muscle. Thanks in advance.

i have the same question, and what would happen if i dont do cardio in the morning? what if i do it in the night?, right now im bulking but i reached a fat level where im not longer comfortable even though i been having good gains also my belly have become very big

i never done any cardio lol, but im gonna start tomorrow first thing in the morning, i dont want to lose fat extreme, i just dont want an alcohol belly (i dont even drink)!!!!!!

here in mexico whey protein is very expensive, whole food is way cheaper

so is good if first thing in the morning i do cardio without eating anything, then after i drink my home made protein drink (5 eggs, oatmeal, banana, milk, peanut butter)?

Hm, I've seen a lot of lads (i.e. Warboss I think, and others on this board too) recommend drinking a small protein shake before your cardio, to minimise muscle loss. Hmm do you not have any whey at the moment mate? Maybe you could just down a can of tuna or something, it's not very fast absorbing though..

I wouldn't eat meat right before cardio (you might puke). You could probably do a scoop or two of peanut butter though. I do a shake.

I wonder what the point in eating a simple carb before cardio would be. Would this not provide fuel for your cardio, in effect, limiting the need for body fat as a fuel?


I was under the impression that some protein was the best bet if you at before cardio.
