Car or no Car?

I NEED A CAR!!!! I've been saving up some money and everybody m(mainly family) has been trying to give me advice. Everybody "wants" me to get a cheap car (you know the ones you buy for like 600-800bucks?)

I know plenty of people who pay more monthly fixing up there car rather than paying monthly payments. I just dont see the point. Any advice on this?

Depends on how handy you are and how lazy.

If it were me I'd at least spend a couple thousand, but remember that cars depreciate and eventually get sold. Buy something that's respectable...that's really all you need. Don't try to impress women with your car. More girls were impressed with my POS Trans Am than my Acura.

Spend about $2-3 thousand. You can get a car that is not a complete joke, but will not depreciate much more. Civics are popular because they are dependable and cheap. I like old Preludes as a cheap car alternative.

F7ck cars get a motorcycle! Get a manual it's SOOO FUN! Just becareful of jealous fat ass drivers and make sure you wear a nice helmet/gear incase a crazy assh'le bumps you.

i agree. you can get a good car and drive it for a few years before something happens that needs big maintenance usually.
i prefer to do this rather than make payments. i don't like payments at all.

Most college kids will only need a sh'tty car for 4 years and once they graduate and get a decent job, they'll buy a new car. It's impossible to buy a decent car (ex. used BMW) without spending more than 10k.
