"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Me: Hey some friends and I are going to the baseball game on tuesday - theres an extra ticket - come join us.

Her: Sounds like fun! Do you have an extra ticket so that I can bring my friend?

--

Okay DJ's I know my first problem was that I wasn't clear on what exactly I meant by "friends" its more of a double date kinda deal. By friends i meant, my buddy and his gf , me + her . Baseball games are a fun way to break in for first dates.

Advice? If i say yes, i am **** blocking myself.'

Possible Replies:

- "she has to buy a ticket, but i love threesomes, make sure shes cute."
- "you had plans with another friend, we'll do something another time"

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Ditch the threesome line, just tell her that you only have one more

Are they good first dates? Seems kinda weird. Both of your attention will focus between the game and each other. You're sitting next to each other, but awkwardly. Not to mention, you made it a double date.

This all might be cool if you guys are really young, like younger than 21.

Anyway, back to your question...

Advice? If i say yes, i am **** blocking myself.'
Right. So say no. You don't have an extra ticket. Your friend bought 4. And all 4 of the seats are together. No room for a 5th.

Sounds forced. Don't say that.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

But well see what happens

How does this thread even exist?

Just say "No." You only have one ticket and it's for her.

A reply like: "Nah I only got one left" will suffice. You should also never invite girls to group outings on your 'first date.' It's a pressure scenario. Whether you want to look at it this way or not, for a chick it's basically her first impression on not only you but your friends also. There is a lot of pressure you aren't thinking about when you ask her to a group outing with JUST your friends. It may be the reason she insisted on bringing one of HER friends, and also a reason that she might decline your offer altogether if you tell her you only have a ticket for her.

My suggestion would have been just to go to the game with her. I've been on plenty of beisbol dates with chicks and you're right, it's a great time. Why complicate things with other parties...ESPECIALLY on the first date.

She is asking to take along a friend because she is insecure of the entire situation. Don't do group dates because the other couple puts pressure on the entire situation. By taking the girl you are interested in on a group activity, you actually make it hard on yourself because you can't be alone with the girl. Your second choice is better.

You should be dictating the terms on which you guys see each other. If you are not comfortable with it then tell her next time. And chances are her friend is a ****block so that she is safe.

Pay attention to the female intimacy vs. attention ratio. You give attention i.e. time for female intimacy. Now look at the entire thing: She gets a free baseball game, which is a time consuming activity. And you on the other hand have to deal with her and her friend making your chance for her intimacy pretty low. Basically she is trying to bargain you in dictating the terms. How much of her intimacy does she have to give in, in order to get attention from you.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

LOL @ a baseball game being a "good first date".

What better way to build attraction than having her attend a boring sporting event that she can't easily escape from if she doesn't like you.
