I understand the source of complaints against lifestyle advertising like Victoria's Secret's, which perpetuates the idea that "sexiness" is mostly about showing off for someone else. Making purchases purely for the sake of seduction seems tacky and compliant. Futile, too, when, as my family was eager to remind me, I'm usually the only one who notices.

My take is that ALL women are biologically predisposed to "showing it off" and that if a woman is wearing sexy underwear, she most definitely wants to show it off to a man worthy enough for her.

Women want to feel desired as much as men want to feel powerful.

A girl wearing that trashy thong feels like she can be desired as much as a manowning powerful cars in his home feel powerful even if he doesnt have the licence to move them to in the highway or drive them in the city center..

In both the cases there is no realization of the potential but there is the potentiality to realize it, in this case they are not desired or powerful but they feel they are.
Its more like confirm to themselves rather than get confirmation from the outside.
