Calling a girl you met at the club

I met a girl at the club on Saturday, things went smoothly and I got her number. I was gonna call her Monday night but I'm not sure what to say. Previously when I met a girl at the club I usually added her on facebook or sent her text messages. Yea I know, not the coolest thing. I'd like to step up and call her over the phone that way I can get a better idea of whether she's interested or not. But I'm not sure what to say. I think we were both a little tipsy/drunk on Saturday so it feels kind of weird calling somebody I barely know sober. I don't like talking on the phone much as is.

I was thinking of just commenting about the night with maybe some playful flirting and then try to set up a meeting later on in the week. Is that standard? Just keeping the convo short and making plans for later? Any advice or tips in these kind of scenarios?

Club number closes rank low in my book. Girls give those numbers out like candy. It's best to do a close ended text the night you meet so she knows you're serious about getting to know her. Just not one of those guys looking for phone numbers and quick hook ups. Anyways, the sooner to you talk I'd say the better you have it worked out, because most club interactions don't last longer than 5 minutes, so it's hard to make a lasting impression on a female.

out of curiosity, does giving a nickname to a chick help anchor?
Cos my ex used to hang out with this guy who gave her a nickname and she loved it. Now this is only one chick, so whats the deal with nicknames?
