"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Went to this crazy party up at Uconn on Saturday. It was a moving in party at an off campus party for one of my friends. Great time to get #'s ! There was this one good looking girl that lived in my dorm freshman year (i'm a senior now). Thought she was attracted to me at the time, but I was AFC and she had a b/f.

Long story short I talked to her for a long time, and got her #. The only tricky thing is she's only up at Uconn for the weekend, and then she's back to jersey where she lives until the semester starts last week of August.

What should I do here ? Call her sometime later in the week, wait a few weeks, get her screen name off "the facebook" and talk to her online for a few weeks til school ? Tell me guys. Never been in this situation before, just wondering the best way to play it out.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

but Shezz, what I'm saying is, even if I did call, we probably wouldnt be able to hang out until school starts in late August. I live in Connecticut, she lives in Jersey, thats a good 3 hrs away and I'd seem mighty desperate if i drove 3 hrs for a first date, not that i would anyway.

So you think i should just call her, w/o plans of hanging out soon ?
