Uh, I don't know how much more obvious she could get...it's like a last resort; I've called my boyfriend in front of guys who just didn't get the hint.

I think it means that they can't control themselves around you so they are trying to get their boyfriend on the phone to re-arouse their loyalties. They may be attracted to you, but they wish they weren't; that kinda thing.
