"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Chance are that I'm going to sound full of myself when you read this so if I do just try to look past that as I'm just trying to give you guys an idea of myself.

You know how one of the top rules or w/e of Don Juan-ism is not to be yourself? Well I'm naturally everything you're supposed to act like. This has been great because I've got girls by the boatload (I normally have 10+- that I'm close to without officially dating but they're not sluts or anything). Unfortunately me being myself got these 2 girls in a fight. They're best friends and they're both a year older than me and unfortunately they were both fighting for me. Well it was at the point where they start telling me about the other's secrets and other stuff I shouldn't know. I thought that if I just stayed out of it they'd solve their problems on their own but they just went for each others' necks. In the end I just told them that I liked them both and couldn't possibly choose one over the other to save their friendship. I still talk to them occasionally but not really..

I'm just curious as to whether I made the right decision or not. What would have you guys done? Should I have just kept going with both of them with them freaking out at each other or just said fvck it and walked away like I did.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Wow.
I was in this situation a little while ago, not quite, but something very similar so I look forward to seeing what other people post.
Anyway, I feel you dealt with the situation rather well... there is not too much you can do when you are put in the spotlight like that. If you choose one girl over the other, it will lead to that other girl bad-mouthing you to her other friends and vice versa.
By walking away, you avoided drama in the near future - girls are all about drama and you need to man up and let them know that is NOT okay to put all their drama in your life.

^Agreed - I think you made the right choice, especially if you have girls left, right and centre drooling over you.
