"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hi there! After reading this board for god knows how long, I decided to attempt to contribute with this Bootcamp thing. I've read all the other threads, followed their ups and downs and have been inspired by the legends that have taken up this dwelling task.

Now, for starters, I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself. If you don't wanna read this and just wanna get onto how I'm going with the camp, just skip to the next post.

About me!
Well hi! I'm currently 19, living in Auckland, New Zealand. I study classical animation (I'm a cartoonist / animator) and feel I can relate a LOT to Seraphs adventures (Except I'm white, hehe). I live in the direct center of Queen St in an apartmant (With 3 friends, all animators :D). This is the main street of Auckland, New Zealand. There are countless bars, clubs and all the sort a mere 20 seconds from my buildings front door. Seems like the ultimate location to find a girl and say "Wanna come over?" and literally do it.

I have a fairly simple personality when it comes to conversation. I guess having loved cartoons all my life, maturity hasn't come so easily to me (Almost like I don't wanna grow up). In my eyes, I love the fact that I can still go to a Disney Animation Feature Film and be the only one laughing at the majority of the movie (Other than the little kids going "LOL A CAT MUM LOL"). Oh, and usually being the only one my age in the theatre ;p.

Good things about me! (Physical)
* Apparently I have very cool hair (Kinda emo I fear).
* I have been told I have a very "cute" smile. I'm kinda self conscious about this though :$.
* Have been told several times I have beautiful hands ("I may not be so good with my mouth, but I'm really good with my hands" - is always a fun flirting line ;p).

Bad things about me! (Physical)
* I was the fat kid (Kinda) in my schooling days. I moved to boarding school and had to walk several times, 200-300m a day just to get my meals. I eventually began to lose weight and now I'm considerably thinner (Old friends don't recognise me at first / second glance :D).
* Acne. I have a little problem with it around my neck / back area. My chest (Mid rib-cage) has some scarring, but healing slowly. I'm currently using Benzoyl Peroxide 5% following the simple routine from Acne.org. This has been helping considerably, but I'm no baby-skinned model yet.

Locations!
I've lived on a farm all my life, out in the middle of no where. I can definately say I'm good with the ladies out there (The cows that is) but when it comes to city girls (Those being human) I'm a shocker :D. I attended boarding school for the last 3 years of my education. This wasn't all that good for my situation (I started realising something was wrong in about the second to last year, being an AFC and all) as everyone was rich, snobby and generally glamma queens. The one thing that DID annoy me, was the amount of sexual frustration between both sexes at my school. If anyone did manage to hook up, it was an explosion of lust for one another (Also, the whole school knew about it 10 mins later).

Experience
13 years: Once kissed a girl behind camping shed!
17 years: 3rd base with a girl (Oral and what not). This was rather a one sided night though (Me giving LOTS and not hardly receiving). I look back on this night and can't count how many things I did wrong (After reading the info on this site). Tis a shame I didn't follow the bible back in my schooling days :(.

Well! That's about it. It's 1:38pm, I've read all I needed to read for exercise 1 of the camp, now I need to go get some action. I'll be writing up everyday, with everything I do. It may seem a bit boring to some of you people, but I wanna vent everything I possibly can. I know I have 1-2 friends out there that may be reading this, so please don't think less of me. I'm just here to become who I think I have the potential to actually be.

Ok! Time for a shower, then I'm out to get some eye contact and Hi's :D. See you!

- Eddie

Ps: I tried to register on this forum ages ago (Twice) and neither times I recieved the confimation letter in my email :(. So, I'm using my friends account (He knows). Just refer to me as Eddie, instead of Mariosex (Seems kinda weird ;p). Ok thanks!

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Week 1: Day 1
Task: 50 Hi's / Hellos and maintain eye contact everywhere possible.

Ok! So I had to go out and sort myself out a passport. The day was sunny and I had a good 2-3 hours before the banks closed. So I just wandered round, looking at people. Everyone always seems to be in a hurry, so maintaining eye contact with some people was rather hard.

A few of the girls that I walked past, I noticed did the "look at me > look away > look back" thingy! I read about that on here (Girls check to see if you're looking at them, then wait, then check again to see if you still are). I found this somewhat funny! Everytime I got this response, I couldn't help but laugh :D. Sometimes in front of them, sometimes just past. Another interesing girl was when I had just bought an ice-cream and I was walking home (Was a scoop'd ice-cream cone one). I spotted my target about 15 meters away (HB7ish) and stared right at her. She saw me at about 12m and locked eyes the whole way through. At the time, I was licking my ice-cream somewhat excessively as it was dripping. She had stopped talking to her friend hehe, I wonder what she was thinking ;D.

All up, today was pretty fun! I had butterflies left and right but still managed to pull off some simple Hi's! I still wuss out of the eye thing sometimes, I look.. then quickly look away. By the time I think to myself: "DON'T LOOK AWAY YOU SCHMUCK!" shes stopped looking by the time I look back.

Todays efforts: 8 Hi's / Hellos.

Week 1: Day 2
Task: 42 Hi's / Hellos and maintain eye contact everywhere possible.

Hmm, well today sure sucked :(. I went out twice, once to get something to eat at the super market (4pm'ish) and then later (8pm'ish), for a wander on the streets.

Outing 1: Town was busy, but no one gave me the chance to say hi to them (Let alone EC) as I walked past. I was walking to the supermarket (~15min walk) and when I got there, I hadn't given or recieved one hello. After grabbing some food and walking around the place, I noticed only 1 person of white ethnicity in the whole place (It's a big supermarket too). No one I saw looked the slightest bit interested in me, as I walked past trying to catch their eye. I ended up saying hi to an Indian girl on my way out (HB6) which made me feel a little better although; she didn't feel too comfortable about the situation.

On the way home, I said a hearty "Good afternoon!" to a rather fancy business man, who I met in my apartments elevator.

Outing 2: Town had died down a little, but so had all the females. The majority of the people out, were foreigners in their groups and families. I saw 2 girls (My age) sitting at a table where I was headed. One of them looked at me, so I quickly took the chance to say hi.. and choked.. haha. It was a "Hihh-" kinda noise. I felt kinda stupid.. But laughed it off with a smile. I'm not gonna count that effort, hah.

Ahhh well. Hoping to head out with a friend tomorrow (Who's interested in the boot camp also) to go out and say hi to some people.

Thanks for reading!

Week 1: Day 3
Task: 40 Hi's / Hellos and maintain eye contact everywhere possible.

Well! Today went ok. I never got round to going to that mall, however, I did go out with 2 of my flatmates and got some ice-cream. We then wandered to the local park and played around with a soccer ball. I said hi to a guy who was waiting to be served ("Heya.. you waiting to be served?") To which he replied with a "Yeh." Well, nothing much.. but hey, at least I said something.

At the park, I said hi to 2 girls, (HB6's) sitting in the grass, near where my flatmate kicked the ball.

After that, I went to go meet a friend at a Uni hostil. I wish so much that I could live in one of those buildings (My course doesn't qualify as part of the main Institution to allow me to live there). It's just like boarding school, with no teachers, lots of alcohol and girls on tap. When I went there, 7 floors up, I encountered a group of 5-6 girls sitting on couches. None were talking as I entered the room.. so I burst out with a "Hi! :D?" I got nothing in return, just a few strange looks. My friend later told me, that the people that sit there, usually wait for locals to introduce the randoms that are with them. I however, was on my own. Ahh well, who cares. I didn't even mean to say Hi, it just kind happened. I'm loving the fact that I have more than my sexuality as motivation to gain confidence. More the fact of conquering myself (If those are the right words :$). After leaving the hostil 1hr later, I said a rather delayed hi to an athletic looking girl (HB7). I felt stupid, as I was 1m PAST her when I realised she had said Hi to me, hehe.

Later on, I left with flatmates to go out and play pool at a local pool bar. The place was pretty packed. I looked around to see if any girls were in the vacinity. I saw 2-3, but all had aquaintances and were in large groups. After settling in with a table, a girl (Asian HB6) from my Uni came out of nowhere and started talking to my flatmate. I knew her as a 3rd year student, but nothing else. I politely said Hi with a smile and recieved one back. A lil while later, another girl (HB8 - Incredibly cute face) from school came over and said hi to me. She gave me a hug then followed with a short chat. I barely knew this girl, only through friends. I tried my best maintain eye contact and keep the convo with her talking. She went on for a bit about some marathon stuff (Music was loud, hard to hear) which was interesting enough. She soon after mentioned she was here with her b/f.. which didn't suprise me (Honestly). She left to go back to her b/f about 10 or so mins later.

After 5 or so games of pool, me + flatmates left to go home. I made sure to go over and say goodbye to HB8. She waved, smiled and introduced me to her b/f. I shook his hand and smiled with a "Hi! Nice to meet you :D. We're off home now, but you two enjoy your night. See you on monday!" - This wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. All this reading of sosuave has helped so much!

Leaving: I said "Thanks guys" to the huge security guards out front (They winked and said "No probs") and left to go home.

All in all, was a very good day for me :D. I didn't get HEAPS of hi's hellos, but I was satisfied with the few I got.

Well done mariosex! Those girls at the hostel were b1tches don't worry about them. Most guys in Week 1 bootcamp wouldn't attempt to open a group of 6 and you did.

Remember Walden is from NZ and he powered through bootcamp so you can do the same.

Week 1: Day 4
Task: 33 Hi's / Hellos and maintain eye contact everywhere possible.

Today I slept through my alarm. Had planned on going to pools with flatmates; we were all too lazy in the end. Ended up getting pizza and 2 greetings from people at the pizza place.

Week 1: Day 5
Task: 31 Hi's / Hellos and maintain eye contact everywhere possible.

Last night, I couldn't sleep. I ended up pulling an all nighter. I had work today, from 10am till 6pm. I lasted 3 hours, before I felt like throwing up. I work at Warehouse Stationary btw; it's like a stationary store, with books, electronics and art stuff (My favourite).

Before I felt sick, I did everything in my power to get some hi's / conversation. When I'm at work, I usually avoid confronting people, as I'm always too scared of the thought that I can't help them (When I offer it). By asking "Hi there! Can I help you?" and when they say yes, then ask me a question.. I usually can't answer it (To which I then run off to find my boss for guidance :D). Anyways, this morning at work (With that weird all-nighter energy burst in full effect) I smiled at everyone, said hi when appropriate and asked people if they needed help. For some reason, todays questions weren't all that hard! I managed to help out the majority of people, with out screwing up!

There's not normally many girls that come into my work, but today, a HB8.5'er came in with her b/f. She came to me (Her b/f holding back, he looked like a wuss) and asked me some stuff about my boss. I couldn't answer much, so I went to find her (My boss). I couldn't track her down (Apparently she was on a 15) so I went back and told them the news. We talked for another 5-10mins about what they wanted etc etc.. then leading onto an explanation of why she needed to talk to my boss. I managed to hold some strong eye contact with her, but I would occasionally pull away. In the end, it was a very satisfying conversation (My boss came shortly after, to which me and 8.5'er parted our ways).

After going home at about 1pm, then lying down for a bit; my old school friend rang up and said he was in town. A short while later, I went outside to meet him. We hugged in public (He's a guy) which is quite odd for me. Sure a hand shake, then a clash of shoulders.. but a big hug saying "OMFG DUDE, YO! Long time no see :D!?" - Felt great. We chilled for a bit, caught up on old times, then he left a few hours later (He had to).

That was my day! I'm sure I surpassed the whole 50 Hi's thing by now.. but I'll continue doing so anyways.

Ps: I know why I felt sick, it was because of staying up all night and lack of energy / supplements. I have only myself to blame, but if I was to get to sleep, then I would slept right through my alarm (Like the day before) :(.

Todays Efforts: 30+ Hi's / Hellos
Total: Dunno! Week 1 completed :D!
