Being Played or Being Paranoid?

There's a chick where I work.
Shes shown interest in my for the past...6 months now.
last week I asked for her phone number.
Normally I wouldn't date people from work but I'm leaving next week, so this isn't an issue...

So anyway. I get her number.
The next day (at work) she tells me she'll be at home that evening, watching a movie by herself because all her family are out. She also mentions she'll be in from 8pm onwards.
I took this as a huge hint to call (as I had not called her yet) and maybe invite myself over.

So it gets to about 8:20 and I call. She picks up, sound very happy to hear from me, asks me to call back in 20 mins cos she's driving home from the stables she also works at.
I call back 30 minutes later. No answer.
I send a text for her to call me as I'm out of credit (which I was).
She texts back "Have gone round friends house to watch film. Will call you later if not too late."

I called up some friends and went to the pub.
She didn't call.


I'm in two minds about this chick.

The GOOD:
She's a total HB (I'd chalk her up as 2 notches on my score board)

She has been pursuing me for ages and hasn't let up, meaning she is definately interested. I am clearly the prize here.

The BAD:
Last night's calls have baffled me.

The UGLY:
She tries to indicate that she is 'hot property', although it's plain to see that she isn't in huge demand for some reason. Or perhaps she's just choosey?


I'm going to sit back and wait for her to call. This seems like the best course of action. What do you guys think?

Sounds like she went to a friends house to watch movies. No big deal. They're not "all out to get you"!

Call back some other time and talk to her.

Going to the pub is a good call! Beer solves everything.

Plus if she HAD called later, you would have been out and it looks better for you all round.

I'd proceed with caution and keep an eye out for other flaky behaviour, but other than that, I think you're doing fine.

Yeah. You do. She just went to a friends house. She wasn't trying to stand you up or spite you, because frankly, she had no idea you even wanted to go to her house and join her.
