Bank account numbers for credit check?

So I'm filling out a credit check form for this house I want to rent and it it's asking for my savings and checkings account number. Is this legit?

If you are not sure don't give them the numbers first until you know it is legitimate because they might try and take money out of your accounts if you are not careful. :D

That is fishy. They may ask for bank statements but for the actual account numbers, have never had to give those myself.

The place I am living at had me do that too. My landlord didn't even run a check on me in the end, and my account has not been touched. Use discrection though.
