"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Okay so I was 'dating' some girl in a computer game, called World of Warcraft. You may have all kinds of thoughts about that, but it was realistic enough to teach me something.

First date almost went bad but i saved it.
Second date went very well.
Today was third date.

I was in a bit of a bad position because our characters couldn't meet up due to some bug, and we ended up meeting up with me being level 5 and she being level 85, which made her like being the one who has the car.

I ended up making two mistakes.

First, I called my character jokingly "5 years old" which implied that she was 85 years old. There was a bit like that in the movie Groundhog Day, where she says "I studied 19th century french poetry" and he says "ha, what a waste of time." Then he tries to save it, which doesn't work, so he says something different the next day. Well, after that remark, she started making my life a bit miserable.

And then I made the mistake of calling her helmet unsexy. She was wearing some hideous thing that hid her face for the most part, but apparently she liked it very much.

After that, she started making fat jokes about me. She turned negative. Then I virtually slapped her, and she threw a fit about that, disbanding the group, telling me not to talk to her. She came back to me, but started giving me those "why?" questions. Wanting to know the reason behind everything.

It ended with "Well, see you sometime..." "Yeah..."

So from what I understand, I killed her attraction for me by making her feel bad in my company. From what I understand also, there is no way to salvage that.

Maybe the helmet remark hit so hard because I hadn't complimented her on her outfit yet, while I knew she had chosen that outfit for the occasion. In truth, while the basis of her outfit was very sexy, she wore some hideous helmet and shoulderpiece which made it hard to compliment on it.

All of this may sound fake and unreal, but it could have happened in real life as well. Glad to learn from it.

What are your thoughts, in general? Please treat it as some real life thing. My chances are gone, right?

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Thoughts: Uninstall the game, go date girls IRL. It's more fun, promise. The fact that you're even contemplating a video game experience like it matters is sad.

And yea, I can relate, I played that god awful lifesucker for 4 years. NEVER had to resort to WoW dates though. It always came second to anything IRL.

Final thought: Don't touch WoW chicks with a 10 foot pole, they radiate BPD like a nuclear meltdown.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Well, there were at least some serious posts ;-).

My chances at what? At nothing. I was just treating it as a training thing. You have no grounds for arguing that I should go date girls IRL (of course I should, that's not the point) without knowing the details of my personal life, which I here won't disclose.

Incidentally, I know of many people who met their spouse through WoW.

Constructively though, you can, in fact, date girls irl, and you will be happier for it. Read the DJ Bible, read the book of pook, figure it out. I don't think this forum encourages the lowest possible denominator ala wrecked girls pickin up dudes in video games.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
