"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Yesterday I got a phone call from someone I met online. We had exchanged emails for a week. This was the first time we had ever spoke.

I was just headed out the door on my way to a concert in Detroit (110 miles away. a day long road trip for me) when she rang and was completely caught off guard.

The conversation went along well in the beginning but near the end there were moments where we stopped talking and unfortunately I filled it in with information on the concert I was going to and repeated the details of the place of the first date and it seemed to turn her off.

I probably sent off some nice guy red flags.

When a phone call goes dead quite like that again what do you suggest the best way to start the conversation up? Or do I just keep it short and close the phone call?

BTW, she is 34, never had kids, exercises daily, and a HB8. A rarity in my area and I don't want to mess this up any further. I NEVER see her kind around these parts.

Our first date is tomorrow, Saturday May 16th.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Keep it short and sweet - arrange a meeting then get off of the phone.

If the conversation get awkward or silent - chances are your on the phone for to long a time.

Thanks for the advice. I should have cut it short. Will do the next time.

You should have also used the "Hey, what about if I give you a call tomorrow? I am currently driving...blah, blah, blah."

Pedestal!

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Unless you have a great voice, great wit, and are quick with good humor and thoughts..I would stay off the phone.

Not pedistal.

Plate.

I posted this tread around the same time as this one. --> http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?t=145004 There are others at the gym I joined.

The only difference between her and them is she has no kids, a nice face and all over me (on the net, at least).

I just came back from Sears with $90 worth of new, tight non-wicking gym clothes that make me look like a superhero. ;)

The internet lady is a plate. :D

After doing 60 minutes of cardio at the gym it cleared my mind up a bid.

I think I am putting her up on the pedastal to some extent. It is hard to think of her without having a mental picture of a photo that she sent of her laying on the bed with a "come hither" look.

Will keep off the net and listen to PUA podcasts all of tonight and just before our date tomorrow to clear up my head more.

I also have a feeling I might be stepping into a trap. She has been coming on to me WAY too easy and it seems too good to be true.

Thanks, guys.

Dear Lone Ranger,
Without Tonto you are really lost aren't you?...A telephone can be sudden Death to a relationship in its embryonic days....Too easy to upset someone,to relate to a new found friend you need eye contact to see how she is receiving your messages and amend accordingly...Always establish a time frame and have a specific agenda in the early days and a second position if she can't oblige...."Hey just loved talking to you last night,I haven't got much time as I am late for an appointment you mentioned you were interested in seeing"The Painted Veil" well I intend to catch it at the Esseldo tonight at 6.45 why not be my guest?"Women are turned on by the fact that you lead a busy life and you get off the phone with dignity,in early stages don't change the time say you are going anyway you won't appear needy...Don't forget if things do get a bit strained, learn how to close your conversations...Like sorry I've got to tear I have Dance Practise in half an hour

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
