In the Book of Pook, Pook appears to push two very important qualities of a DJ: getting rid of desire for women (i.e. outcome independence, taking women off the pedestal, etc), but simultaneously making obvious your desire for women (i.e. "the sexual ones get the girls"). This makes sense to a certain degree, but ultimately I feel that these two principles fundamentally contradict each other.

Desire women but get rid of your desire at the same time? See what I'm saying? The philosophies are sound in principle and make sense theoretically-speaking, but I feel they are impossible to adopt for most males who have read the book in the first place. Let's be honest; most of us read this book because to some extent, our success with women was not up to par or even nonexistent.

It has reached the point in my life that I am so sexually frustrated from being rejected, mocked, stood up, and blown off by girls that it has drastically distorted my view on how to approach women and what attitude/philosophy to adopt. Negativity has taken over my mind, thereby making it impossible to attract women in a natural way. My past experiences have reinforced the detrimental ways in which I interact with women.

I cannot focus. I can't speak to a women I'm attracted to without acknowledging the fact, subconsciously at least, that I desire her on an instinctual, purely carnal, biological level. I can try to drown out the little lustful voices in the back of my head, but I cannot deny my very own nature.

Reading self-help articles and books on inner game isn't going to change the fact that I am a 21 year old kissless virgin who has never done anything sexual or intimate with a girl. Repeating "I am the prize. B*****es ain't s***." and other mantras multiple times a day may work in theory, but I really just see it as banging your head against the wall multiple times, numbing your mind temporarily and giving yourself a quick fix or buzz of superficial confidence. This buzz will quickly disappear as soon as you actually go out and the field and try to apply what you've read.

Sexual activity is one of the most fundamental human needs, alongside food, shelter, oxygen, etc. As animals, we are programmed to procreate to survive. Sexual deprivation, when strung out too long, leads to desperation, which leads to unattractive approaches to girls, which therefore leads into more deprivation and more desperation. The vicious cycle, at this point, fuels itself. Survival through sexual activity becomes impossible as the deprived becomes psychologically isolated and, in some scenarios, psychologically damaged. "Survival value" diminishes and mating skills are heavily reduced.

In my case, it reached the point where I was drinking heavily every night for over a week for two reasons: one, to drown out the depression brought about by sexual deprivation and two, to lower my inhibitions, get rid of shyness, and hit on girls.

This didn't work. It became a full-blown addiction and I ended up in a hospital for two or three weeks to be treated for suicidal depression, insomnia, and crippling social anxiety.

Most of my problems with mental health in my life have revolved around my lack of experience with girls and deprivation of intimacy. It's hard to really feel that "you are the man" when your history with females has proven otherwise. Talking to girls without f***ing up is damn hard when you have all this baggage holding you down. A couple phrases in some book written by some guy I've never met in my life isn't going to change this.

Sure, I go to the gym. I work part-time. I'm currently not going to school right now but even when I did, I was surrounded by tons of hot, drunk girls who hit on me all the time; even then, despite being at a top, competitive school and having endless potential opportunities, my view of myself and level of sexual deprivation remained.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is one thing to be sexually-frustrated and a little unhappy. This will drive girls away but if you can catch yourself and your AFC-ways quickly enough, there is hope to reverse your attitude and slowly your behaviours.

But how can I REALLY get rid of desperation, when it has affected not only my sex life and confidence, but also my mental health and social skills? Tell myself "Your desperation is driving girls away. Stop being desperate. You are the prize! As you think you shall become!"? There is no magic button to suddenly stop the desperation. You can ACKNOWLEDGE the desperation, but you are really just sweeping the desperation under the rug, trying to hide it, when interacting with a girl.

What can I do at this point? Bang a hooker, get the sexual hang-ups out of the way? Find some random drunk b**** at a club and take advantage of her, no strings attached, to get it out of the way? Keep drinking alcohol to drown out the voices of anxiety holding me back?

Definitely stop drinking. I sometimes feel so horny I get desperate too. I hit on any girls just to bust a nut. But as soon as I whack off, I feel so much better. Just keep rubbing one out man, it really does let off steam and relaxes you. REALLY! Meanwhile, keep on the look out for girls and keep living life. Stay busy.

As above. Embrace your desire for women, but let it not overwhelm you to the point that it becomes desperation. Again its all about balance, women want to be desired but are turned off by desperation. Think about your personal experiences where this theory applies. For example a clingy friend, you feel good to be in his social circle, but after awhile you sense his desperation and tend to back off from him. No?

I know its hard to take the first step and experience failure. However, you only fail if you don't try. Learn from your past mistakes, improve, try again. This cycle will never end, but eventually you will experience less mistakes as time goes on. One thing you have to learn is that life is full of rejection. You have to learn this fast. What you have to do is to build a resistance against rejection and you can only do this by practice.

Giving a personal anecdote, I've been rejected by women by the past 18 years of my life. Not really any successes at all. Eventually I went down the same road you are in now. But through other experiences I learnt that rejection is everywhere and slowly I applied this theory of rejection into every new thing I do. You just have to build your frame against it. Don't be afraid of rejection, rather face it head on.

There are some times I slip into self depreciation but that is all part of trying to change who I am for the better. Things take time and you have to accept there is no magic pill to women.

First don't fight your sexuality. You're already breaking the first rule Pook said to be a DJ, first you must embrace your sexuality as a man. Heck, I bet every person on this board has had at least one fantasy of boning a chick on the train he just saw there and then.

Same as the pencilnecks who never lift in the gym and talk about how dangerous squats are. Get your theory, apply it. No use sitting on it and it becomes mental masturbation.

I don't believe in the whole 'Fake it till you make it' mantra. Repeating you are the prize won't get you anywhere. BE THE PRIZE. How? Think of the qualities you want to have that people would want to date you for. Strive towards that. Skinny? Go workout. Not social? Get a job that exposes you to people constantly. Visualize the future you and work towards that goal, only then will you feel like the prize and exude an aura about it.

Alcohol is a quick fix for shyness but eventually you'll want to do it sober. Don't indulge in alcoholism, it will do you more bad than good to your self esteem (and body) in the long run. If you feel too sexually frustrated, your desperation will show. Just masturbate, get that urge out. You think best when your **** is not shouting "Get me some *****!"

There's nothing you can do here other than step out of your comfort zone and try. I understand at a place where your reputation is concerned is not a viable place to try and improve yourself because people want to see you fail. Your best bet is to start somewhere fresh, get a job where nobody knows you and start from there. Its easier and less demanding on one's psyche to maintain street cred.

For one, please DONT indulge in alcohol. Bang a hooker if you feel it will help get the stigma of "being a virgin and therefore AFC" out of your mind.
Eventually though what you want to do is to progress towards being the "prize" rather than believing in it. Right now I'm rarely pursuing women because I'm busy improving myself till the point I feel that I am good enough that I want to date myself lol.

Whenever your feeling down remember 2 things.

1. Your in a better socio-economic situation than about 75% of the world. Your from Canada, clearly bright and based on that line about getting hit on by girls apparently not ugly. Do you know how much better off you are than literally millions of other people? I'd say a billion even. People would kill to have half of what you have. Heck people would kill to have half the basic necessities you had.

No your not getting laid and it sucks. I know. See my post from last week. If your really that desperate just bone an ugo for practice. I've done a few when drunk and yeah its not great but it feels good to atleast have the experience under your belt.

2. There are thousands of other guys in your exact position. Several of my friends are exactly like you, except they dont use this site or have a drinking problem. Your not alone, guys talk big but theres a lot of guys out there who are not getting laid and if they are its with ugly girls.

Just keep working at it and know that when your 30 women that age just fall onto your diick from what i've heard.

Smoke some weed, sit back, take a breath and realize how lucky you are to know where your next meal is coming from and to have the opportunity to make something of yourself in this world.

You are 100% right to feel bad about it and yes sexual activity is a human need, but thats what masterbating and ugly girls are for. But only resort to that to keep you from hitting bottom again. You have too much going on in your life to get depressed cause your not getting laid. Get out there and live life and be thankful for all you have and instead of getting depressed over what you don't have, get motivated and go get it!

Uh, I don't think Pook says you should get rid of your desire for women. Maybe you misinterpreted something. A DJ will clearly show a women he desires/wants her. He is a sexual being, yes? But while he shows the woman that he wants her, he will also show the woman that he doesn't need her (by not trying to please her, by acting indifferent if she blows him off, etc.).

He wants her, but he doesn't need her. Need is distinct from want. There is no contradiction here.

6,7= You're desire women and this desire motivates you to become a better, stronger, smarter human being and you constantly push yourself to become better at talking to women and you do this through constantly talking to different women, trying to educate yourself on how to better interact with women. You desire women but are confident in your own 'pulling power' and are content enough with your own life that you are happy to try new techniques with women and are content playing a little bit hard to get and being a bit elusive even though there is the possibility that women may walk away from you.

8= You're quite desperate for women and a few symptoms of this would be

- Treating her like she is a goddess (and you've only just met her)
- pandering to her every want and need
- Letting her treat you poorly
- Being afraid to walk away when she flakes on you
- You feel an immense pressure to 'get some' when you talk to girls. As if a criminal has put a gun to your head before you walked into the room and told you that he will shoot you unless you come back with a girl willing to have sex with you
- When you see women on the train/ at work/ in pubs you think "Damn I would like to be with her" but do nothing about it. As at Level 3; however, now you feel like there is too much pressure and that you can't cope with it and that is the reason you don't approach her rather than, a lack of motivation. You constantly fret about your ability to talk to women and feel frustrated by the lack of sex you are getting.

10= You're so desperate for sex that you go about getting it in illegal ways "rape/sexual assault"

The trick with this is to find your 'golden zone' (6,7) at which you desire women enough to pursue them but don't feel so much pressure that it incapacitates you and hinders your ability to pick up women.



Oh and GET THE FVCK AWAY FROM THE ALCOHOL, that sh1t will mess your life up man.

That's a good point. I will admit, drug use and alcoholism has certainly thrown off the balance of my brain chemicals and distorted my view of myself and my environment. I am working towards getting clean and already, my mind is becoming clearer and I'm becoming more positive. Although my mental health issues have been fueled by sexual deprivation, substance abuse has certainly fueled the negativity even more. I am sure that a week or two down the line, after my mind has returned to homeostatis, my desperation will not be as evident. That being said, my substance abuse was caused by deprivation in the first place, so it's not like being clean or getting rid of sexually-unrelated stress in my life will solve all my problems.

You're depressed, and you have a poor self-image. That is the cause of your problems with girls, not the result. Maybe it is both to some extent, but mostly it is the root of the problem. Women don't find a low self-image to be attractive in a man. They can't help it, and that's never going to change. The good news is that you can turn around your psychology, and when that happens, your luck with women will turn around as well.
 

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

What pook was hinting at imo, is that you need to let them you that you want them but don't need them.

Essentially this means valuing your penis+nuts more than her vagina.

And to get rid of your social anxiety you should just get out of your comfort zone.

People function on associative memory.

When I see a chick who looks like a chick who I've made out with before, it makes it about 50% easier for me to make out with that chick, because I associate her with someone who I've made out with.

And I've got to tell you, you can go out and get rejected 10 times, but once you get accepted by an HB9 and she gives you praise and kisses, it'll be worth all the effort. Women sort of have healing energy. But you can't buy it.

So just keep working at it. Most PUA's didn't even get a kiss till they were in their 20's.

And it takes time for all the Don Juan information to sink in. Eventually you will be so conscious of everything that your face won't reveal your thoughts, and women will become intrigued. So just keep learning.

yes i know this all too well,,,,,, drove me to drink many times and drug abuse,,,,,,, all because of sexual frustration and rejection,,,,, my latest thoughts are about getting heroin to numb my pain,,,,,,,,,or pay a hooker to pre-tend im not a ****ing reject.....,because im 41 and had enough of patience or trying to do the right thing.....rejected and treat like ****!!! the reality is there is no trust sex or love..... so drink or drugs is all there is to take the pain away.....

the oldest trade is still the 'oldest trade'..... man is ugly and unwanted,,, he adores women ignores his own repulsion..... i cxant ignore it anymore so im going to get heroin...... it will be safer than more alchohol

you cant fukn win !!! work hard train hard,,,, but noone wants us as men.....we have to want a woman...... its simple as that,,, sure if ya have the money n cars ya might get a vampiristic ***** pre-tending she likes you.... but real love doesnt exist!!! our streets are full of problems crime violence drugs and alchohol,,,,suicide.... and a lot of it is down to this,,,,, lack of love trust and sexual pleasure!! i speak from living experience not a book or website,,, not a scripture written hundreds of years ago.....but from my reality....my frustrations and rejections.... i drink and i smoke weed to pacify,,, i dont even try to chat women up anymore..... ive accepted i cannot be loved or wanted and now ...consider using prostitutes or heroin..... so when i hear these cheesy love songs on the radio i want to smash the ****ing radio!!!! cos 'love doesnt save the day'!!! whiskey does!! and if there was such thing as love i wouldnt be ranting on here so ****ing unhappy!!!

This is confusion on Pook's part. Desire is never 'gotten rid of' and this idea/paradigm is the cause of wide-spread confusion from SoSuave all the way to the halls of Tibetan buddhism.

It is one of the most confusing hang-ups that mankind has encountered vis-a-vis spirituality and self-transformation. You don't ever 'overcome' anything. Sometimes, with enough deep love and passage of time, desires transform and shift, of their own accord. Misunderstanding this, some people looked at Desire and thought: "I have to shift this, I have to change this." That is violence against the Self. All Desires are there to be explored, fulfilled (where possible) and not stuffed down for being inconvenient.

No one is overcoming their Desire. Desire is going to be the fuel in your furnace for your whole entire life, why overcome it?

I'm going to speak on another level and see if you can follow: kissing girls and banging them isn't going to change the fact that your sexuality is feeding into an acute imbalance towards lack of self-worth and panic-driven depressive hysteria. Those aren't medical/psychological terms by the way, since I don't believe in Science's view of these things.

Do you think a person as severely imbalanced as you are, once having reached the other side of the "I put my d1ck inside a vag1na" dividing line, is suddenly going to transform into a well-harmonized, sexually balanced, heart-happy individual? No way. Its a product of your own illusion that you think kisses and vag will heal you. It ain't happening.

I hear ya, I hear ya. Mine too. However there is the question of how much you are simply choosing, because you love the subject matter quite a lot, to pin your problems and your self-(mis)understanding onto some external factor which then explains the "messed-upness" which is actually starting and stopping with you, and is completely independent of whether it suddenly starts raining vag in your world or remains dry season.

You can begin on an individualized and life-long journey towards self-healing and balance.

If you embark on that (although I'm sure you already have in some way, hence why you're here), you might find exercises useful. Exercises bring the self into balance much more quickly than reading/intellectualism, and more quickly than sexual conquest.

Probably more important than any of these individual epiphanies, is that you begin to release the world of women, pvssy, and all that from the stricture of being the theater where your mental worldview is failed or vindicated.
