"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I recently got my drivers license and i went up to the mall today. I was actually looking for an application to some select stores. i had no intention of even approaching any girls or meeting any for that matter. anyway, i went into Hollister, a store i've never been in before, simply because too many white people rock that clothing, lol. they have alright clothing.

to my surprise, i seen a girl that looked familiar working there. she was in one of my classes from last year. she looked a lot better now(about an HB8) compared to last year. it was weird. she's a freshman in college now, and i had something to work with. i mustered up the courage to say hi, and i asked her if she remembered me. she did, and we started talking. eventually i asked her about some clothes and how they fit on me, and she even bought me a sleeved polo for a discount. after she got off work, i walked with her around a bit, talking about various subjects, but unfortunately i didn't get her number. she even had her cell phone out, fiddling with it!!!!!! i felt so much regret afterwards. she said, "i'll see ya later" and there went my chance to cop the number....

regrets, regrets, regrets.....i hate it, but hopefully i'll come back stronger and more prepared next time. i think i did pretty well, being under the circumstances i was in. i had no intention of even meeting any chicks. now that i have my license i'll be going out and experiencing a lot more.

i'll probably stop by there the next time i go shopping, and i'll definately get her number. i know it'll work. i tried some kino, too. i've always been too much of a coward to try it too, lol....this is something i wouldn't ordinarily do. but i did it and it feels good. it's just another small step, but i'm steadily progressing. i hope i can be like this more often.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

the win-win situation about this is that this girl has a sister that is in my grade. last year i met her, we were aquaintences, but i never befriended her.

i learned that meeting a girl doesn't mean you've befriended them.

now when i see her sister around school, i have something to work with, and u better believe i'll step up to the occassion.
