"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

ObieJuan, I was careful to mention pseudoscience. The two are very closely related and while there are pseudosciences which are not paranormal (e.g. muliple chemical sensitivity syndrome), everything paranormal is pseudoscientific once you “scientifically investigate” it.
With that said I can at least assert that the reason astrology has been around so long is not for those aforementioned reasons.
Go ahead, let’s hear it.
Even science does not explain a fraction of what goes on in this world, or universe for that matter.
“We don’t know what we don't know” is a fallacious argument when what science does know for fact effectively eliminates the possibility of existence. I refer to the highly regarded expert astronomer Phil Plaitt who wrote this brilliant essay which demonstrates why astrology is impossible to be true even if “unknown forces” were in play. There is nothing to be open-minded or “fair and balanced” about when the truth is lopsided and consequently the opposition is just wrong. And yes, science does explain a large fraction of this world and the universe more than any mystic would ever want to admit.

Earlier, it was mentioned elsewhere the “difference” between western vs. eastern horoscopes but what astrological “method” is used is moot when the underlying premise is categorically false. Further, if one supposes that taking one set of factors into account as opposed to taking different factors into account—e.g. Chinese horoscopes “[take] into account the day, time and location of your birth to create a birth analysis to identify probable character traits and influencess” (Franciso d'Anconia)—make any real difference then one must be taking the full of astrology seriously. Which is to say, if the second of the minute of the hour you were born makes a difference in the horoscope and therefore someone's actual personality—since horoscopes are “so accurate”—then astrology must be being taken seriously as actually true.
I do not claim to understand how astrology works or have an explanation as to why it is an accurate representation of the type of person I am it does give a good idea of what others would expect if we were to meet.
Yes, of course, you don't have an mechanism of causation because before one can explain something one must first have an observable phenomena which for our astrologers is sorely lacking.

I would write more but it's time for bed. In the meantime, check out this short video clip.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Deep Dish, it seems you have done your homework! I read through the link you posted and some of the articles that were linked on that page as well. I'd try to prove you wrong but with that strong of a case it's impossible :D

It is mostly selective thinking that explains best why these "signs" are so believable. Scientifically, if gravitational pull and electromagnetism have no effect due to distance then we know it's all fabricated nonsense. It seems more plausible that the sign profiling could be done on a large scale survey- which might make more sense this day in age where marketers will do anything to get undeducated consumers to part with their cash. Regardless if it is of any real use we should still learn it because the girls eat it up, lol...just kidding. Girls swooning ftw!

I'm glad everyone chimed in, this was fun. After Deep Dish dropped what is akin to an atom bomb on this discussion I doubt there is much more we can argue. Even though LovelyLady posts fondly about her experiences with a certain sign it would be hard to come up with any real explanation. Attraction can't be perfectly explained by either science or pseudoscience, it just happens and is probably a number of dynamic factors that differ between people. Seeing as we're all here on a seduction site we seek some kind of formula that will give us consistent results.

I concluded after coming to this site a while ago that if you have an awesome personality, lots of money and are devilishly handsome you will have the lions' share of women- otherwise we work at having a better body, getting a higher paying job and get out more often to improve our social skills; generally we experience personal growth, don't sweat the small stuff and put ourselves first but value others we will succeed more than those who don't. Above all else, keep an open mind.
