"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

article: Why Men Are Slackers and Women Are Single

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Fairly accurate observations by Miss Venker. It's her analysis of those observations that irks me a bit. Like many traditionalists who decry the decline of marriage, she is very keen to hitch men to the yoke once again. No thanks.

A few quotes from the article:

Moreover, women have made it clear they don’t need a man to support them, to be happy, or even to become a mother.
And that’s just the women who were fortunate enough to find husbands in the first place. Others put off marriage indefinitely — until they decide they want a baby. Trouble is, they can’t find men who are willing to marry them.
If women don't need a man, why should they care if they can't find a man to marry them?

And why should men marry? As Rollo often says, there is simply no advantage to marriage for a man. Not in today's world.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Because the Bible says, to avoid fornication, people should marry. (1 Cor 7:2)

Rollo says that and then he claims he's not anti-marriage.

It's like me saying I am a hardened atheist, which I am, and also I am not anti-religious, which I also am.

My point is, if you are smart enough, all your arguments (even the ridiculous ones) become tenable.

True enough. Anyway, marriage in the traditional sense no longer exists. Women will not respect the vows. They will file for divorce as soon as they become bored, or feel inconvenienced, have a bad day, become attracted to someone else, or decide you are not providing them with the Prince Charming existence they feel they have been promised, and are entitled to.

So, in its place, as Tits points out, we have the marriage to the state. Where the working man is drained of his resources in order to provide support to all the single women and their offspring.

Heh, funny. But I always figured Rollo came to his conclusion after he was already married. Marriage is good for the child though, or rather it can be. Although that is still not necessarily the same thing as being an advantage for the man.

Crap article, excellent comments. What people don't understand is that men going their own way and dropping out of the system is the equivalent of women getting out of the kitchen, burning bras, etc. It's the 21st century male equivalent of men breaking free of traditional gender roles.

“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

I'm pretty sure she didn't advocate that or allude to that in the article. She just merely pointed that while the main stream is lauding the rise of the single female, in reality is is that they are:

feminists are inherently insecure women who demand validation for their unusual choices.
And as a consequence, men are responding by shunning marriage and commitment.

I saw it merely as a cynical (and accurate as you noted) look at an otherwise socially popular trend.

This, of course, is a CONSEQUENCE of an ever powerful state that allows more and more people to skate that
otherwise wouldn't be able to cut it in a free market economy.

No need to worry about pleasing customers when your salary is paid with stolen money.

Taiyuu, you're right, I re-read the article and I have misattributed some of the positions discussed to Venker herself. Good pick up.

"men have become slackers"????

Im not exactly sure what it is men are supposed to be doing other than the usual...manning up! whatever the fcuck thats supposed to mean?

seems to me these dear girls have got themselves into a bit of a pickle, dont like the deal they are left with and still try to blame men...for feminism? I might be reading it wrong.

personally I dont realy care, Im quite happy for women to have more power, its funny to observe how messd up things become, as for men not wanting to marry and 'letting the side down', good for them, its a sh!tty deal most times

I believe after 5 decades of relentless shaming, men have become used to it and stopped paying attention. Kinda like after you've been sitting on the throne for a while, the smell is "gone".

Women are doing great. You go girls! and all that.

Don't forget you're helping out fat ass Susie May and her 4 little redneck daughters Anna Lynn, Sissy Lynn, Mary Lynn and Honey Boo Boo as well.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

the problem is not that men aren't manning up. the problem is that the 2000's woman who grew up on instant gratification TV and social conditioning doesnt' know what a man who is manning up looks like.

It's like my wife's chinese friend. she wants her on / off ex husband to man up. he never will man up beucase he's not a man. she is blind to all the men around her who are manning up. she wants the man who makes the gina tingle to put on a suit and go get a real job. **** women were saying that in the 40's. the only difference is that then most women understood that there was a difference between the 2 men. they didn't waste all that much time trying ot make one man the other.

Like the article said about the happy single female, its all bullsh!t.

The empowered women who dont need men and raise kids by themeselves or at home alone with a cat or are bringing randoms home here and there for some sexual fulfilment are NOT living the good life, they are miserable, lonely and depressed.

Especially when their youth is well behind them.

I think we should somehow learn to -at least- think about the nature-based idea that

men can indeed be disposable to some extent.

The female may indeed inherently be more important from a biological standpoint. Maybe we're mad at the feminists because they figured out their inherent advantages? Like if every women in the world would withhold sex for a month the world would go insane?...

I am obviously not coming from the "feminine imperative", but I sometimes wonder what OUR position in this is ...

Why is a male to be respected, worshipped or followed UNLESS he's an ALPHA?

Just because you have a swinging dìck doesn't entitle to you to shìt in real life anyway, why would it be any different from a feminine perspective?

I don't like the socialistic idea of "defending all men's rights" really. I don't want to be defending enablers, white knights, manginas, pvssies, drug addicts

and deadbeats.

Why am I fighting with women for the sake of these basterds? They are increasing my value, after all !

All men deserve at least common courtesy. It's for your own good. Disrespect the wrong stranger, and your pleasant morning will suddenly turn into a life-and-death struggle for survival. Wouldn't you rather live in a society where all men are pleasant to one another? Of course you would.

Who are those deadbeats? When there aren't enough jobs to go around, some men are going to be unemployed. Period. They'd only be "deadbeats" if there was so much opportunity that even the most hurt and broken man had plenty of chances to rebuild his life. Besides, not hustling yourself for pennies -- "becoming a deadbeat" -- is the best and most-rational choice for many men. If she's the one who cheated, or if her abuse drove him into the arms of another woman, why should he pay for her wrecking the marriage?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
