I’ll never forget it. I was crossing the road to enter Selfridges department store in London when I caught a glimpse of a tubby woman reflected in the shop’s huge windows. When her strides started to mirror mine, it hit me: she was me.

In my teens, I worked as a model, and I’d always been happy with my appearance. It was natural, then, for me to try to find a remedy when it started to change.

Ten years on I still have the odd shock. Just the other day, a friend and I were discussing a man she knows who, at the age of 44, has just married a 22-year-old.

Throughout my teens and 20s, I had always looked years younger than I was. But, as I hit my mid-30s, all that stopped. Mother Nature took the brakes off and, seemingly overnight, I turned from bright-eyed, dewy-skinned nymph into red-eyed, flaky-skinned hag.

my opinion:

White girls hit the wall soo hard it is actually sad, because they are sooo hot when they are young. I think about the cast of "The Hills and Laguna Beach" they were prolly the hottest girls on the planet at that time. Come the reboot they ALL look washed up and old... I'm like "WTF happened to my Whitney and Kristin!!?"

And I like to point out Top Gun and Top Gun 2 (soon release).

Tom Cruise is in both movies as the main actor. He is still in his Prime today. The hot girl from the first movie is now an old hag and Tom will have a new hotter younger woman in the new movie.

Thank god your a man.

As much as I like the concept of retribution, I dont feel particularly satisfied from the fact that those women now understand what it means to play in hard mode (aka average man life mode).

As long as they dont inform younger women about what happened to them, nothing significant will come to us or society from them hitting the wall.

As long as the average 25 yrs old girl doesnt get a reality check about her future she will keep riding the carousel till she becomes useless to men and a cost to society because economically speaking...women are not that useful to society beside making kids. give the cost/taxes ratio.

It's partly the arrogance of youth ("that will never happen to me, look how cute I am"). And partly the time dilation effect - the fact that time passes more slowly when you're younger but speeds up as you age. "Sure, women over 30 look rough, but I'm only 22, that's eight years away, that's an eternity".

Anyway, it may be satisfying when women lose their entitled position. But I wouldn't take much satisfaction that they feel the effects of aging. Men may age more gracefully than women, but age comes to everyone sooner or later, and whether you believe it or not. I'm constantly dealing with little niggling aches and pains. Father Time is undefeated. Besides, it's one less hot girl on the market, how is that a good thing?

And sure there's wrinkles and grey hairs, but I find the cruelest joke for women is the growth of the jawbone. Women still look babyfaced until about 23/24. Compare young and later pics of any female celebrity and you'll see what I mean. I think this is why I like Selena Gomez, lol.

Spot on about time horizons. At 21 30 seemed ages away. At 32 I can see 50 looming ominously...

Unless we have met him without makeup we dont really know what he looks like away from the camera.

Brad Pitt still looks decent but you can tell age is catching up. Hes not as in shape as he was 10 years ago as well.

A number of these Hollywood actors and actresses are just average looking people away from the cameras.

I agree about the jawbone. It continues to get robust, and the result is that older women start looking like trannies.

That teacher chick I'm talking to is a year older and far hotter and younger looking that that!

Also note, like all of us that pic probably has beauty modes and air brushing too so she probably looks a lot worse than that.

My mother is 74. She told me a story just the other day when I went to see her in Florida about her older sister/my aunt ("Aunt B") who passed away a few years ago. Aunt B. was married 4 x times and after #4 ended in her 50s she wouldn't throw in the towel. Mom said Aunt B, in her 50s, still thought she could compete with the chicks in their 20s for men and land a young hot man to make #5. My mom said she tried to tell her tactfully "I'm not saying you are ugly, but you need to start going for men that are more in your league, or call it quits with men all together. Same here as you saw my thread about sinus issues. It really ages you and makes you look tired when your eyes look tired and old.

That's the advantage OLD has. You can post those fancy smartphone pics that have all the fancy filters and stuff that make you look a lot younger. All the chicks use these filters, you should too!
